Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of sustainability, data and technology. You’ll get stuck into the day-to-day processes and lead improvements to our data, systems and reporting. Over this two-year role you will have helped us make the most of the tools and data we have to support quality decision making across the business and best in class sustainability reporting. You will have built a solid understanding of how a sustainability focused organisation like Meridian takes action on topics like climate, human rights, and nature, and have help shaped the corporate processes that support this action.

Āu mahi | What you’ll be doing

• Support sustainability processes and programmes including our Emission Reduction Plan and supplier emission reduction work.
• Support the Sustainability Team with reporting and disclosures, bringing together information from across the business.
• Manage and maintain sustainability systems, including Workiva, keeping data accurate and up to date. Create and lead an improvement plan for our systems and processes.
• Find smarter ways of working, improving processes and making better use of technology, automation and AI.

• Strong confidence with data and systems, with the ability to quickly pick up new tools and technology.
• Solid analytical skills, including Excel, with a knack for spotting insights and telling the story behind the data.
• A genuine interest in sustainability and a desire to build a career in this space.
• Curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, always looking for smarter ways to do things.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation, particularly when working with data, reporting and deadlines.
• Great communication and relationship skills, able to work across the business and make complex information easy to understand.
• While experience is important, we will consider early career sustainability professionals.
