Is this job info correct?

About us: iconic brand, tiny company. Polaroid was founded in 1937 by one of the most seminal innovators of the 20th century, Edwin Land. His motto was, “don't undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible.” In 2008, Polaroid shuttered its last factory but a group of diehard fans came together as The Impossible Project to save instant film. Over 10 years later that startup acquired what was left of Polaroid and today we’re again a small group of people passionate about empowering creators to change the world in the name of Polaroid. Job summary The Sustaining Mechanical Engineer supports and improves released Polaroid products in mass production. The role focuses on mechanical product improvements, ECR/ECN execution, cost-down initiatives, quality issue resolution and production productivity improvements through better product design and manufacturability. The engineer works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Development, Process Engineering, tooling suppliers, component suppliers and manufacturing partners to keep production stable and continuously improve released products. Key responsibilities Own sustaining mechanical engineering activities for released products in production. Support and drive ECR/ECN activities, including technical impact assessment, validation, drawing/specification updates and production implementation. Lead product improvement and cost-down activities based on production issues, quality data, field feedback and supplier input. Improve production productivity by improving product design, assembly flow, part robustness, tolerance strategy, fixture compatibility and manufacturability. Investigate and resolve mechanical production, supplier and field quality issues using structured root cause analysis. Support tooling and fixture topics, alternative materials/parts, supplier technical discussions and engineering documentation updates. Required qualifications and experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field. 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, sustaining engineering or product support within consumer electronics or similar products. Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, injection molded plastics, small precision components, tolerance analysis, material selection and DFM/DFA principles. Hands on experience using PLM systems. Proficiency using CAD Softwares (Solidworks, Creo, Catia) for creating detailed 3D models, 2D drawings and Assembly drawings. Practical understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly processes, tooling, fixtures, yield improvement and production troubleshooting. Experience with ECR/ECN processes, validation, engineering documentation and working with suppliers or manufacturing partners. Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, 8D or similar structured problem-solving methods.
