We are looking for a Python Developer / Bioinformatics Specialist to join our team and contribute to the ongoing development of our Gait Analysis platform, with a strong focus on AI-based analysis of animal locomotion and behavioural data.
The project involves the development of advanced software tools for the acquisition, processing, analysis and interpretation of gait and movement data, with applications in preclinical research, neuroscience, pharmacology and behavioral science.
The ideal candidateOur preferred profile is a bioinformatician or computational biologist with strong Python programming skills, but we are also very interested in experienced Python developers who do not necessarily have a background in biology, provided they have a strong interest in scientific and AI applications.
Key responsibilities- Develop and maintain Python-based software for gait and movement analysis.
- Develop algorithms for processing and analyzing locomotion data.
- Work with video-based and time-series data.
- Contribute to the integration and development of AI / Machine Learning / Computer Vision algorithms.
- Develop tools for automated extraction and analysis of gait parameters.
- Work with large experimental datasets and statistical analysis.
- Improve the robustness, performance and usability of our existing software.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate experimental requirements into software solutions.
- Contribute to the design of new analytical methods and features for our gait analysis platform.
- Python programming skills.
- Experience with scientific computing and data analysis.
- Familiarity with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy and Matplotlib.
- Good understanding of software development practices, debugging and version control (Git).
- Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems.
- Good command of English.
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Bioinformatics / Computational Biology
- Machine Learning / Deep Learning
- Computer Vision
- DeepLabCut or Lightning Pose or other pose-estimation frameworks
- OpenCV
- PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Time-series analysis
- Statistical analysis of experimental data
- Animal behavior or neuroscience
- Gait analysis / biomechanics
- Processing and analysis of video data
- The opportunity to work on the development of a real-world scientific and AI-based gait analysis platform.
- A technically challenging project combining Python, AI, computer vision, biomechanics and biological research.
- The possibility to work on-site or remotely, depending on the candidate and role.
- An international working environment.
- Considerable freedom to contribute ideas and influence the technical development of the platform.
- Collaboration with an established company developing instrumentation and software for scientific research.
We are particularly interested in people who are hands-on developers, curious about scientific problems and motivated by building working solutions rather than simply applying existing software.
A background in biology is not mandatory. A strong Python developer with experience in AI, computer vision, data analysis or scientific computing can be an excellent candidate.
Candidates of any nationality are welcome to apply.
If you are interested in working at the intersection of Python, AI, computer vision, gait analysis and biological research, we would be interested in hearing from you.
Please send us your CV, a brief description of your experience and, if available, examples of relevant projects or GitHub repositories.
