System Administrator and Test Engineer

WHO YOU ARE Prowess Consulting is looking for an enthusiastic junior System Administrator/System/Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have skills in a variety of technologies including storage, compute and networking. Strong trouble shooting and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively to resolve issues. To be considered for this role, you must reside in the greater Seattle area. This role will require 3 – 5 days per week in our Bellevue, WA office. This is a part-time, hourly role that can be worked remotely, however, collaboration with teammates centered in the Pacific time zone will be essential. No third-party agencies, please . THE ROLE Researching, testing, development and writing in support of benchmarking, and testing Running publicly available hardware benchmarks and tracking results Running provided Python/PowerShell/Bash/Shell scripts or interactive steps to stress test server infrastructure hardware QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required 2+ years’ experience or working knowledge administrating AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle cloud 2+ years or working knowledge with scripting languages such as Python and Batch/Shell scripts Ability to take clear notes and write concise technical documentation Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing. Must be able to work Pacific Time Zone NICE TO HAVE 2+ years’ experience in a Windows environment 2+ years' experience with Linux Administration 1+ year experience in configuring enterprise storage 1+ year consumer hardware benchmarking and testing 2+ years with building sandbox and lab environments Ability to conduct research to learn and understand new technologies Additional experience in the following areas: Kubernetes AI/ML workloads Microsoft SQL Server MySQL Virtualization such as Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV Nginx Redis ADDITIONAL DETAILS The offered base pay range for this specific positing is $45.00 – 60.00 per hour, DOE Pay ranges are different for different work locations within the U.S., which allows for competitive pay and consistency in different states U.S. based employees, working 30 hours per week or more have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic life insurance, a 401K plan with matching, well-being benefits, education benefits, among others.
