Collins Aerospace is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our global Digital Technology organization. In this role, you will support and advance data‑driven Industry 4.0 initiatives that are transforming our factories into connected, intelligent ecosystems. Our team works with industry‑leading IIoT platforms to create, deploy, and sustain software solutions that positively impact people, equipment, and products. These solutions enhance workplace safety, reduce manufacturing defects, unlock the value of big data, and ultimately contribute to air traffic safety.


As a member of the Digital Factory Solutions team, you will work hands‑on with information systems, servers, cloud platforms, and manufacturing devices. Your responsibilities will span solution development, platform deployment, system analysis, break‑fix support, and long‑term sustainment across a global landscape. You will collaborate directly with customers, vendors, and internal partners to gather requirements and solve complex technical challenges.

What You Will Do:


  • Lead deployment, configuration, and sustainment of medium‑ to large‑scale Industry 4.0 platforms and applications across global manufacturing sites.• Serve as the technical focal point and application owner for assigned digital factory systems.
  • Analyze complex business requirements and propose effective, scalable technical solutions.
  • Translate customer needs into system designs, specifications, and implementation plans.
  • Support current and legacy applications, ensuring reliability, stability, and compliance.
  • Perform system installation, integration, configuration, hardening, patching, log management, and security reviews.
  • Execute daily operational activities following established incident and change management processes.
  • Maintain documentation including standard work, best practices, diagrams, and configurations.
  • Monitor applications and services, identifying opportunities for automation to improve uptime and resiliency.
  • Collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Provide knowledge sharing and cross‑training to peers and junior team members, helping improve overall team capability.

Qualifications You Must Have:


  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Extensive experience with digital technology infrastructure and related concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with application administration, including installation, configuration, optimization, backup, and recovery across server environments.
  • Experience with automation tooling, containerization technologies, and associated concepts.
  • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments and a strong understanding of their capabilities.
  • Ability to lead projects and guide customers toward solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Experience querying and working with databases (MS SQL, Oracle, HANA, Databricks, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of IT best practices (ITIL) and experience working in a process-driven enterprise environment.
  • Experience with application security and system compliance activities.• Experience working with vendors, stakeholders, and end users to support issue resolution.
  • Strong customer focus and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working with enterprise-level solutions and large-scale projects.
  • Basic understanding of application automation, security, and compliance concepts.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
