System Engineer

An established defence technology business is looking for an experienced engineer to join the team. The role focuses on the design, development, and delivery of specialized simulation training systems, combining technical engineering with product ownership and project management. The successful candidate will ensure that complex training solutions are technically sound, user-focused, and delivered according to project milestones.

What you'll be doing

• Translate customer requirements into clear system specifications and acceptance criteria

• Shape the technical roadmap and break down complex requirements into actionable tasks

• Manage and prioritize the product backlog, balancing new features with technical improvements

• Oversee the development of high-performance user interfaces and ensure architectural integrity

• Manage collaboration with external suppliers and subcontractors to ensure seamless system integration

What we're looking for

• Extensive professional experience across the entire systems engineering lifecycle within simulation projects

• Proven background in the aerospace or defence sector with an understanding of mission workflows

• Experience managing external suppliers and coordinating technical delivery across teams

• Proficiency in modern software development methodologies and common programming frameworks

• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is a significant advantage
