Salary Range: $96,000.00 To $112,000.00 Annually
Job Title: Systems Administrator II
Location: Remote - DHS CISA Office of Bombing Prevention; approved work location within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday;
Security Requirements: Must successfully complete the required DHS/CISA background investigation, obtain and maintain a favorable DHS suitability/fitness determination (Public Trust), and maintain required system access.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States and meet DHS/CISA personnel and system access requirements.
AttainX is seeking a Systems Administrator II to administer cloud-hosted systems supporting OBP mission applications. This position maintains system reliability, security, capacity, and performance across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related systems administration experience, including cloud-hosted mission systems or application infrastructure.
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting cloud-hosted systems, operating systems, and application services.
- Experience with account administration, access controls, patching, log analysis, backup and recovery, and configuration management.
- Working knowledge of automation or scripting, cloud provisioning, resource scaling, security monitoring, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ability to document operational procedures and coordinate technical incidents, changes, and alerts with Government operations and security teams.
- A relevant cloud administration certification or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification applicable to the supported environment is preferred.
- Must be a US Citizen with ability to satisfy required Government background investigation, system access, nondisclosure, and sensitive-information protection requirements.
Job Duties:
- Configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted mission systems and related services across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
- Install and update software; administer user accounts, access controls, and approved system configurations.
- Implement change and patch management, emergency fixes, security updates, and vulnerability remediation within prescribed timelines.
- Monitor system health, logs, utilization, and performance; investigate incidents and coordinate corrective actions with Government personnel.
- Provision and scale cloud resources to address surges in demand and traffic spikes while optimizing resource use.
- Maintain and validate backup and recovery procedures and support operational continuity and data protection.
- Document system configurations and baselines; ensure software approvals align with the DHS Technology Reference Model process.
- Support Authority to Operate artifacts, monthly system scans, vulnerability reporting, and configuration management quality assurance.
- Maintain SOPs, concepts of operations, maintenance logs, and utilization reports; provide accurate equipment information for monthly asset reporting.
- Coordinate service-level expectations, alerting and advisory procedures, incident response, and Tier 1 knowledge transfer with the CISA Technology Operations Center; support approved changes outside normal hours.

Work Environment:
Work is performed remotely from an approved personal residence or corporate telecommuting site within the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. The workspace must provide reliable connectivity and protect sensitive Government information and Government-furnished equipment. Work hours are generally between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, with an eight-hour workday and required availability from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Occasional work outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required for critical issues, emergency response, or approved changes. Office noise is generally moderate. Remote work remains subject to Government approval and access requirements.
