Job Description

The Systems & Investment Analyst is responsible for the accounting, reporting, compliance, and operational support functions related to the organization's investment portfolio and Special Purpose Trusts (SPTs). This position performs investment accounting activities, prepares financial and regulatory reporting, oversees trust accounting functions, supports audits and tax filings, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records and compliance reporting. The role serves as a key contributor to the investment and trust administration function while providing operational support across the broader Investment Team.

This is a hybrid position based in the Greater Tampa Bay area with a mix of onsite and remote work on a weekly basis.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly investment account reconciliations, journal entries, and account roll-forwards to ensure accurate recording of investment activity.
• Download, review, and process investment statements and transaction activity for assigned asset classes and investment types. Prepare month-end accounting entries related to investment transactions and portfolio activity.
• Review and calculate investment management fees in accordance with contractual agreements and coordinate timely payment processing.
• Prepare detailed schedules and supporting documentation for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation, review, and distribution of investment-related reports and analyses for management, committees, and organizational leadership.
• Process portfolio rebalances, transfers, and related transactions through custodian bank and other investment platforms and portals as required.
• Review of regulatory returns for Special Purpose Trusts for which the organization serves as trustee.
• Coordinate charitable distributions from trust accounts and ensure compliance with trust agreements and applicable regulations. Maintain accounting records for Special Purpose Trusts, including but not limited to: Recording market value adjustments, Processing distributions and fees, Preparing journal entries for monthly activity, Reconciling trust accounts, Monitoring investment activity
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for pooled income funds, gift annuity funds, transportation funds, restricted endowments and other special trust arrangements.
• Maintain communication and coordination with internal and external service stakeholders
• Utilize specialized trust accounting software to calculate asset values, income allocations, and trust distributions.
• Assist in the preparation and review of assigned annual financial statement audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Respond to auditor inquiries and provide requested information related to assigned investment and trust accounting responsibilities.
• Prepare regulatory filings and other external reporting requirements as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, organizational policies, trust agreements, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a backup resource for key investment accounting and operational functions across the Investment Team.
• Assist in documenting and maintaining policies, procedures, workflows, and internal controls related to assigned responsibilities.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
• Provide shared oversight and review of support staff work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with Accounting, Treasury, external investment managers, custodians, auditors, and other stakeholders to support organizational objectives.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and organization.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting, investment accounting, trust accounting, finance, or related experience.
• Experience with investment accounting, trust administration, endowments, foundations, charitable trusts, or institutional investment portfolios.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and regulatory reporting.
• CPA certification, progress toward certification, or an equivalent professional credential relevant to the position.


Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
