Takeoff Software Specialist

Are you an experienced takeoff software specialist with advanced construction estimating expertise and a passion for teaching others and sharing practical industry knowledge? SMARTSOURCING USA is seeking a qualified Takeoff Software Specialist to develop an advanced takeoff software training course and support the learning and development of aspiring estimators and construction professionals.

This is a contractor role for someone who can independently develop practical course content, create software demonstrations and exercises, engage with students, answer technical questions, and provide subject matter expertise in takeoff software and construction estimating workflows.

Qualifications:

• At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience using takeoff software for construction estimating and digital takeoffs, such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, On-Screen Takeoff, CostX, STACK, or similar software.
• Advanced takeoff software proficiency, including templates, parts, assemblies, formulas, cost databases, reports, and customized workflows.
• Strong experience working on U.S.-based construction projects, with knowledge of U.S. construction standards, terminology, estimating practices, and workflows.
• Experience performing detailed material and quantity takeoffs across one or more construction trades.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings, specifications, addenda, and scope documents.
• Prior experience in training, mentoring, coaching, course development, or a subject matter expert capacity.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into organized, practical, and easy-to-follow training materials.
• Experience creating presentations, instructional videos, exercises, assessments, answer keys, and other learning resources.
• Ability to engage professionally with students and provide patient, timely, and constructive guidance.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently, manage course-development deliverables, and meet agreed deadlines in a remote contractor setup.
• Reliable computer, internet connection, microphone, and camera suitable for recording course content.
