Position Overview:

At Finning, our people are the foundation of everything we do. We're looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition Partner to lead full-cycle recruitment and provide strategic talent advisory support across a variety of service operations business areas.

This role is ideal for an experienced recruiter who has successfully hired skilled trades and technical talent, particularly within heavy industrial, construction, mining, energy, manufacturing, or equipment-related environments. Experience recruiting Heavy Equipment Technicians, Mechanics, Electricians, Welders, Millwrights, or other skilled trades professionals will be highly valued.

The role will be based at Finning's Head Office in Northwest Edmonton and will operate under a hybrid work model.

Job Description:

What You'll Do:

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment from intake to offer and onboarding.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and talent pipelines for hard-to-fill and high-demand roles.
  • Partner closely with business leaders to understand workforce needs and develop hiring strategies.
  • Provide market insights, talent recommendations, and recruitment best practices.
  • Support hiring activities in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Leverage recruitment data and market intelligence to support workforce planning and decision-making.
  • Promote Finning's employer brand through recruitment marketing, networking, and industry engagement.


What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience.
  • Proven success recruiting skilled trades and technical talent.
  • Experience hiring Heavy Equipment Technicians and other hard-to-find trades talent is strongly preferred.
  • Strong sourcing, interviewing, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Experience partnering with leaders in a consultative capacity.
  • Knowledge of labour legislation, recruitment best practices, and collective agreement environments.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems; Workday experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Labour Relations, or a related field.
  • CPHR designation, or progress toward completion, is considered an asset.
