The typical salary range for this position is $62 400.00 - $85 800.00 annually. The base salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.

This is a temporary position for 12-14 months

Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the full recruitment cycle and partnering with business leaders to attract, identify, and hire top talent across the organization. This role serves as a strategic recruitment partner, providing expertise, market insights, and talent solutions while ensuring an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.

The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages multiple priorities simultaneously, and is passionate about building strong relationships while delivering high-quality talent solutions.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruitment strategies that attract top talent.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process from intake meeting through offer acceptance and onboarding.
  • Source, screen, interview, and assess candidates using a variety of recruitment channels and techniques.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, providing market insights, recruitment expertise, and guidance on hiring decisions.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience that is professional, engaging, and aligned with Metro's values and employer brand.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates, hiring managers, and key stakeholders throughout the recruitment process.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders, Human Resources, educational institutions and community organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, human rights requirements, company policies, and recruitment best practices; provide coaching and guidance to managers as needed.
  • Support workforce planning, talent acquisition initiatives, and continuous improvement projects that enhance recruitment effectiveness.
  • Represent Metro at career fairs, networking events, educational institutions, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze recruitment metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records, recruitment documentation, and reporting within designated systems.
  • Ensure all recruitment-related documentation, approvals, and administrative requirements are completed accurately and within established timelines.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 1 - 3 years experience of progressive recruitment or talent acquisition experience
  • Certified Human Resources Professional or Leader designation (CHRP or CHRL) an asset
  • Experience utilizing sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of legislation relating to talent acquisition practices
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Flexibility with hours of work. Some travel required.
  • Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and consultative partnership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment.
