About the Role


The Junior Talent Specialist plays an important role in supporting Makosi’s Talent function by

helping to identify, attract, engage and assess exceptional talent for opportunities across our

global client base.


Working closely with the Talent team and key internal stakeholders, you will support the end-to end candidate journey, from sourcing and initial engagement through to interviewing, profile

management and onboarding support. You will also play a key role in building and maintaining

strong talent pipelines, ensuring that Makosi has access to the right skills to meet current and

future business needs.


This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about people, recruitment and building

relationships. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, curiosity, attention to detail

and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


You will have the opportunity to learn from an experienced Talent team, develop your recruitment

and sourcing skills, and build a strong understanding of Makosi’s business, consultant community

and global talent requirements.


In your first week, expect to

• Learn about Makosi, our business model, clients, consultants and global talent community.

• Understand Makosi’s recruitment process, consultant journey and vetting requirements.

• Become familiar with our ATS, recruitment platforms, sourcing tools and internal systems.

• Meet key stakeholders within Talent and across the wider business.

• Learn about the different roles, skills and experience profiles we recruit for.

• Understand the importance of maintaining accurate and up-to-date candidate information.

• Shadow Talent Specialists and participate in candidate interactions and recruitment

activities.


In your first month, expect to

• Support the Talent team with sourcing and identifying suitable candidates for live and

upcoming opportunities.

• Build and maintain talent pipelines across key skills and markets.

• Conduct initial candidate outreach and engagement.

• Support with candidate screening and preliminary qualification checks.

• Schedule and coordinate interviews and candidate communications. Assist with

maintaining accurate candidate profiles and recruitment records.

• Support the management of candidate applications and responses.

• Develop an understanding of Makosi's consultant vetting and interview process.

• Begin building relationships with candidates within your assigned talent pools

In your first three months, expect to

• Independently source and engage suitable candidates for a range of roles and

opportunities.

• Conduct initial screening conversations and assess candidates against defined role

requirements.

• Build and maintain active talent pipelines for key skills and markets.

• Support Talent Specialists with the end-to-end recruitment process.

• Conduct structured candidate interviews in line with Makosi’s recruitment methodology.

• Provide a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment

journey.

• Proactively identify new sourcing channels and talent attraction opportunities.

• Manage candidate communication and follow-ups in a timely and professional manner.

• Take ownership of maintaining accurate and high-quality candidate data within Makosi's

systems.


In your first year, expect to

• Manage recruitment activity for assigned roles and talent pools with increasing

independence.

• Build strong relationships with candidates and develop an engaged talent community.

• Become confident in assessing candidate suitability against both technical and cultural

requirements.

• Develop expertise within specific skill areas, markets or client requirements.

• Contribute ideas and insights to improve sourcing, candidate engagement and recruitment

processes.

• Support strategic talent initiatives and workforce planning requirements.

• Build a strong understanding of the market, candidate availability and emerging talent

trends.

• Become a trusted member of the Talent team and contribute to Makosi’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Sourcing & Attraction

• Source and identify suitable candidates using a variety of platforms, databases, networks

and sourcing techniques.

• Build and maintain active talent pipelines for current and future opportunities.

• Conduct proactive outreach to engage passive and active candidates.

• Support the development of talent pools across key skills, industries and geographic

markets.

• Assist with recruitment campaigns and talent attraction initiatives.

• Research relevant markets and identify potential sources of high-quality talent.

• Explore innovative and creative sourcing approaches to identify exceptional candidates.

Candidate Engagement & Experience

• Act as a positive and professional point of contact for candidates throughout the

recruitment process.

• Conduct initial candidate screening and qualification conversations.

• Communicate opportunities, requirements and next steps clearly and professionally.

• Maintain regular communication with candidates and ensure timely follow-ups.

• Support candidates throughout the application and interview process.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with members of Makosi’s talent community.

• Deliver an exceptional candidate experience that reflects Makosi’s values and culture.

Recruitment & Vetting Support

• Support the Talent team throughout the end-to-end recruitment process.

• Assist with reviewing applications and assessing candidates against minimum

requirements.

• Conduct structured interviews and candidate assessments as experience and capability

develop.

• Prepare candidate profiles and supporting documentation for review.

• Assist with gathering required information and documentation during the vetting process.

• Support background check and onboarding processes where required.

• Ensure candidate information is accurately captured and maintained within internal

systems.

Talent Pool & Data Management

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate profiles within Makosi’s systems.

• Ensure candidate records, interview notes and communication history are properly

documented.

• Monitor candidate availability and maintain engagement with relevant consultants and

talent pools.

• Assist with identifying inactive or incomplete profiles and supporting data quality initiatives.

• Support reporting on recruitment activity, talent pipelines and candidate progress.

• Contribute to improving the quality and accuracy of Makosi’s talent data.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with Talent Specialists and other internal stakeholders to support recruitment

and resourcing requirements.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve recruitment processes.

• Identify opportunities to improve candidate engagement, sourcing and workflow efficiency.

• Stay informed about market trends, talent availability and emerging skills.

• Support wider Talent and business initiatives as required.

Skills & Experience

• A qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field would be

advantageous.

• Previous experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, candidate sourcing, sales, customer

service or a people-focused environment is advantageous.

• A genuine interest in recruitment, talent acquisition and building relationships with people.

• Experience using LinkedIn or other sourcing platforms would be beneficial.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.

• Comfortable working with systems, data and technology.

• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Excel and Teams.

• A proactive and curious mindset with a willingness to learn.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

• Ability to take feedback, learn quickly and continuously develop.
