Overview

The Strategic Sourcing & Talent Pipeline Specialist will support Yale University's Strategic Sourcing Team. This role is responsible for building and sustaining proactive talent pipelines, coordinating targeted recruitment events, and strengthening community-based sourcing strategies for our workforce needs.

This position also plays a meaningful role in Yale's participation in the Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN), contributing to grant-funded research and workforce initiatives focused on inclusive hiring practices for justice-impacted individuals.

This position partners closely with the Recruitment and Operational segments of TA in addition to community stakeholders to ensure a consistent, inclusive, and high-quality flow of talent into roles across the university. The role emphasizes pipelines, relationships, and events rather than transactional requisition management.

This person will:

1. Support proactive talent pipelining efforts focused on workforce development and reentry hiring initiatives by attending community events, workforce development programs, and reentry-focused recruitment activities to identify prospective candidates and align talent with appropriate Yale staff and healthcare-related opportunities.

2. Conduct sourcing and outreach activities with community organizations, workforce agencies, reentry programs, and external talent networks to engage candidates and support second-chance employment pathways.

3. Identify and help map roles that may align with reentry talent populations in collaboration with recruitment and hiring teams, while supporting inclusive hiring and workforce planning initiatives.

4. Participate in the review and development of hiring resources, toolkits, and best practices designed to support universities and healthcare organizations in recruiting, hiring, and retaining individuals with histories of incarceration.

5. Contribute to presentations, meetings, and collaborative discussions related to inclusive hiring strategies, candidate assessment practices, hiring policy review, and retention approaches connected to workforce inclusion and reentry efforts.

6. Build and maintain relationships with prospective candidates, workforce partners, and community organizations through ongoing outreach, networking, and engagement initiatives.

7. Assist with research, benchmarking, and implementation support tied to equitable hiring, workforce inclusion, and retention initiatives across university and healthcare environments.

  • Review and provide input on hiring policies, candidate assessment tools, and retention practices to reduce barriers for justice-impacted applicants.
  • Participate in JCOIN-related presentations, convenings, and working groups, representing Yale's workforce development perspective.
  • Collaborate with JCOIN research and program staff to ensure alignment between sourcing strategies and grant deliverables.
  • Support data collection and reporting on justice-informed hiring outcomes as required by the JCOIN grant.
