At WestLand Engineering and Environmental Services, a Trinity Consultants team, we are driven by purpose, innovation, and a shared commitment to the work that we do. As part of Trinity Consultants' Water and Ecology division, we tackle complex environmental challenges, blending expertise in environmental consulting, wetlands, cultural resources, GIS, landscape architecture, and engineering. WestLand empowers our teams to develop their unique skills while fostering career growth within a company that is large enough to offer diverse opportunities yet agile enough to value individual contributions. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do-our professionals work together on meaningful and impactful projects, delivering solutions that help clients navigate regulatory complexities and see positive project outcomes. Make a difference with us at WestLand! WestLand is adding a Task Manager to our Cultural Resources team in the New Mexico! The ideal candidate for this role would be based in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, or Santa Fe. The Cultural Resources Task Manager is responsible for managing a defined portion of a larger cultural resources project, with full ownership of a specific task or project element. This role may also support smaller, low-risk projects with clear scope and limited complexity. The position will apply technical expertise in cultural resource management (CRM), while developing foundational project management skills, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight. The Cultural Resources Task Manager works under the guidance of a Project Manager and contributes to successful project delivery through effective coordination, communication, and task execution. What will I be doing? Manage and execute assigned cultural resources tasks with clearly defined scope, schedule, and budget parameters. Maintain accountability for a specific task or project element within a larger project. Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for task-level assignments. Implement project plans as directed by the Project Manager, with primary control over budget and task execution. Monitor task progress, budget performance, and scheduling to ensure alignment with project goals. Execute low- to moderate-risk components of cultural resources projects, typically at a single location with defined scope. Assist in proposal preparation, including contributing to scopes, budgets, and staffing plans. Follow established company, client, and regulatory standards and guidelines, including cultural resources compliance requirements. Identify potential risks and demonstrate developing awareness of technical and project-related challenges. Provide regular updates and communicate progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager. Attend project meetings and present updates on assigned tasks under Project Manager guidance. Coordinate and oversee a small, dedicated team assigned to a specific task or field effort. Support quality assurance and ensure accuracy and completeness of task deliverables. Maintain documentation and records to support compliance and project deliverables. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support overall project success. What qualifications are required for this role? Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field required. Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field is preferred. Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in cultural resources management or a related field. Demonstrated experience in CRM fieldwork, analysis, and technical reporting. Prior experience leading small field teams or managing discrete project tasks preferred. Familiarity with federal, state, and local cultural resources regulations and compliance processes. Progress toward meeting Secretary of the Interior (SOI) Professional Qualification Standards preferred. Working knowledge of cultural resources management practices and applicable regulations (ex., Section 106). Basic understanding of project management principles, including scope, schedule, and budget tracking. Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and escalate decisions appropriately to the Project Manager. The salary range for this position is $73,000 - $88,000 per year. What does WestLand offer you? Comprehensive benefits package: 9 paid holidays, healthcare benefits, PTO, and 401k matching for full-time employees. Flexible work schedules and remote/hybrid possibilities for most roles. Multidisciplinary environment: Unique, creative, and challenging projects where you can develop your vision of clientele and work with industry leaders daily. Success-oriented environment: Two-way mentorship, financial incentives to publish work, tuition reimbursement, and a career-path structure to help you reach the next steps in your career.
