The Tax Manager will be responsible for supporting the Company's U.S. domestic and international tax compliance, tax accounting, reporting, tax credit, and controversy activities. This role will independently manage complex tax matters and serve as a key contributor to the Company's federal and international tax reporting processes.


The successful candidate will partner closely with finance, accounting, treasury, legal, and business teams to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations, support financial reporting requirements, and drive operational excellence across the tax function. This position offers broad exposure to U.S. federal, international, and multinational tax matters within a global organization. This is a highly visible individual contributor role requiring strong technical tax expertise, analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and review of U.S. federal income tax returns, including consolidated return workpapers, elections, disclosures, and supporting calculations.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations under ASC 740, including deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, return-to-provision adjustments, and effective tax rate analyses.
  • Maintain tax attributes, earnings and profits, tax basis schedules, deferred tax inventories, and taxable income calculations.
  • Research and analyze federal tax law developments and assess impacts on the Company.
  • Support federal credit processes, including the research and development (R&D) tax credit and related documentation requirements.
  • Assist with Section 174 capitalization and amortization calculations and related reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to support compliance, reporting, and technical tax matters.
  • Manage components of U.S. international tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8975, and related reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and review calculations related to GILTI, Subpart F income, foreign tax credits, FDII, withholding taxes, and other international tax reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with finance teams and external advisors globally to obtain information necessary for U.S. reporting obligations.
  • Monitor international tax developments and assist in evaluating their impact on the Company's tax profile.
  • Support tax examinations by preparing responses, supporting documentation, and technical analyses.
  • Maintain documentation supporting tax positions and financial statement disclosures.
  • Assist with tax risk management initiatives, SOX controls, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and internal stakeholders to support income tax filings, audits, and information requests.
  • Support tax-related aspects of legal entity restructurings, acquisitions, divestitures, and other business initiatives.
  • Prepare technical analyses and memoranda related to tax law changes, accounting matters, and business transactions.
  • Assist with implementation of tax law changes impacting domestic and international operations.
  • Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders on special projects and technical tax matters as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate tax compliance, provision, and reporting processes.
  • Utilize tax technology and data analytics tools to improve efficiency and reporting quality.
  • Participate in tax transformation and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
  • CPA and/or Master's in Taxation preferred.
  • Big Four or large regional public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with multinational corporations and cross-border tax matters.

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or a multinational corporate tax department.
  • Experience with U.S. federal income tax compliance and tax accounting under ASC 740.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. international tax principles, including foreign information reporting, foreign tax credits, GILTI, Subpart F, and cross-border transactions.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing corporate income tax returns and supporting workpapers.
  • Experience working with multinational organizations and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting tax audits and responding to information requests from tax authorities.
  • Experience with OneSource, SAP, Alteryx, and Power BI a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal corporate taxation and ASC 740.
  • Working knowledge of international tax principles and cross-border business transactions.
  • Experience with U.S. federal income tax return preparation and review.
  • Strong tax research, technical writing, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
