Tax Specialist

Job Description

The Tax Specialist will support the Company’s tax compliance and reporting obligations, with primary responsibility for gaming tax, VAT, local taxes, account reconciliations, and other statutory requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with other teams and stakeholders within the FSSC and Group Finance.

What you will be doing:

• Prepare, review, and coordinate accurate and timely gaming tax, VAT, local tax, and other statutory filings and payments.
• Perform tax account reconciliations and investigate and resolve identified reconciling items.
• Maintain complete and accurate supporting schedules, working papers, tax records, and documentary requirements.
• Monitor statutory filing and payment deadlines to ensure full and timely compliance.
• Assist with tax audits and information requests from the tax government bodies and other regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect, validate, and reconcile financial and operational data required for tax filings.
• Identify potential tax exposures, control gaps, and process issues, and escalate them promptly to management.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tax-related financial close tasks, reporting, and related tax compliance requirements.
• Maintain tax process documentation, standard operating procedures, compliance calendars, and internal control records.
• Support tax process standardization, automation, and continuous-improvement initiatives across the FSSC.
• Assist with tax-related projects and other responsibilities assigned by the FSSC COE Tax Tower Lead.
  
  

Who we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field; CPA qualification preferred.
• At least three years of experience in Philippine tax compliance, tax accounting, and VAT.
• Experience delivering accurate and timely tax compliance activities across multiple entities within a shared services/service delivery environment.
• Experience with tax and financial audit support, and documentation requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP and tax filing systems; Oracle experience is preferred.
• Ability to standardize processes, monitor service levels, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to meet strict statutory deadlines.
