ABOUT THE TEAM
We are looking for an experienced Hardware Design Team Lead to provide dedicated leadership and direction to our industrial design team.
This is a senior leadership opportunity combining industrial design expertise with people leadership, workload planning and stakeholder coordination. You will help the team deliver high-quality design work by setting clear priorities, supporting team development and providing credible guidance during technical design discussions.
Initially, the role will focus on leading the industrial design team. Over time, the scope may expand to include additional hardware-related functions, such as technical writing, hardware support and regulatory expertise
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Lead, support and develop a team of industrial designers.
- Plan and balance team workloads, priorities and resources.
- Provide guidance during technical and industrial design discussions.
- Support the team in resolving complex design challenges.
- Establish clear priorities and help the team deliver against agreed objectives.
- Coordinate stakeholders across industrial design and the wider hardware environment.
- Communicate plans, priorities, risks and trade-offs clearly.
- Promote collaboration across technical and cross-functional teams.
- Support the future integration of additional hardware-related specialists into the team.
- Contribute to the continued development and broader direction of the hardware design function.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
Significant experience in Industrial Design, Product Design, or Hardware Design within a product development environment.
Experience in sheet metal design.
Experience in managing suppliers, working with procurement, QC and QA teams.
Strong technical design expertise with the ability to provide credible guidance and contribute to design decisions.
Proven experience leading and developing teams, either through direct line management or leading project teams.
Ability to prioritize, plan, and balance workloads across multiple projects and competing deadlines.
Strong stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around priorities and objectives.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and supporting the professional growth of designers or technical professionals.
Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, resolve challenges, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong collaboration skills and a track record of working effectively within cross-functional engineering and product teams.
Ability to drive team performance while maintaining high standards of design quality and delivery.
