We are looking for a Team Lead, Fleet Engineering to be a key leader within ENMAX Energy’s Generation team. You’ll bring together people, engineering expertise and operational priorities to help keep our power generation facilities safe, reliable and performing at their best. You’ll lead a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering professionals while partnering across the business, from plant operators and technical teams to senior leaders. This is an opportunity for a collaborative, solutions-focused leader who can balance competing priorities, solve complex problems and continuously look for better ways to support our Generation fleet.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 6-8 individual contributors to provide Mechanical and Electrical Engineering support to ENMAX Energy’s Generation facilities to achieve safe, reliable, and regulatory compliant operation.
- Participate in decision making and provide recommendations based on sound engineering practice.
- Coordinate the engineering resources necessary for:
- Plant equipment Break/Fix support
- Creating maintenance engineering work packages according to outage planning milestones
- Compliance with regulatory programs (PEIMP, ARS, ISO Rule, EQMP, PLIMP, etc.)
- Prioritization & execution of fleet related Management of Change (MOC), Problem Identification & Resolution (PI&R) records, and capital project activities.
- Developing, reviewing, updating, engineering procedures and authenticating professional work products
- Perform sponsor, reviewer, and coach roles for MOCs and PI&Rs, contributing to achieving plant safety, environment, plant availability, reliability and production objectives.
- Utilize knowledge of associated regulations and codes to provide ongoing engineering support to plant General Managers, integrity management & reliability program owners
Education Required:
- Degree in Engineering in related discipline
- P.Eng status, in good standing, with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
Qualifications & Experience:
- 7 - 10 years professional engineering experience in power generating stations and/or large industrial facilities.
- Extensive use of engineering principles, technical expertise, project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Extensive and in-depth knowledge of power plant equipment, systems and technologies including combustion turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, balance of plant equipment, etc.
- Understanding of long-term asset management principles including risk management, reliability principles, value assessment and continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of Safety Codes Act, Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation (PESR), ABSA Information Bulletins, AB Series documents, Electrical Quality Management Program, and AESO Reliability Standards and Rules.

Location:This role will be part of our hybrid work model that includes Core Days in office (Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays), and more time to focus on Mondays and Fridays, either in the office or at home. The office workspace is located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB).
