The Team Lead, Data & Analytics leads a specialized team that transforms HR data into strategic insights, analytics products and recommendations that improve decision-making, workforce planning, employee experience and organizational performance.

Reporting directly within the IT organization and working in a close functional partnership with HR, the incumbent operates at the intersection of technology, data and people priorities. The role establishes the HR analytics vision and roadmap, ensures the delivery of reliable and scalable solutions, and builds trusted relationships with HR and business leaders.

This position combines people leadership, portfolio management, data governance and analytics capability development. It advances the organization from primarily descriptive reporting toward diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive capabilities while supporting the confidential, ethical and responsible use of employee data.

YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

People leadership and team management

  • Lead, engage and develop a multidisciplinary team across data, business intelligence and People Analytics.

  • Set objectives, allocate capacity, manage performance and develop technical, functional and consulting capabilities.

  • Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.

Needs analysis and HR partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to HR business partners, Centers of Expertise and leaders.

  • Lead discovery and needs-analysis activities: understand HR processes, clarify the decisions to be supported, and define users, metrics, business rules and success criteria.

  • Translate ambiguous challenges into clear use cases, functional requirements, user stories and delivery priorities.

  • Present findings and recommendations to management audiences, increase data literacy and support solution adoption.

Strategy, products and delivery

  • Define and evolve the HR analytics roadmap in alignment with business and technology priorities.

  • Manage the portfolio of reports, dashboards, datasets, applications and analytics products throughout their life cycle.

  • Prioritize initiatives based on value, urgency, risk, dependencies, effort and available capacity.

  • Oversee solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation and support.

  • Advance the team’s capabilities in automation and diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Governance and operational management

  • Ensure common definitions, clear ownership, appropriate lineage and measurable data-quality controls.

  • Partner with cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, platform and data-owner teams to protect sensitive HR data and support its responsible use.

  • Plan team capacity, timelines, dependencies and budget, manage risks and communicate portfolio status.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or a related field. A graduate degree is an asset.

  • Significant experience, typically seven or more years, in HR analytics, People Analytics, Business Intelligence or Data & Analytics.

  • Demonstrated HR-domain experience and strong knowledge of processes such as talent, performance, compensation, engagement and workforce planning.

  • Proven ability to conduct needs analysis, facilitate workshops, document requirements and translate HR challenges into analytics solutions. Candidates from an HR background are strongly considered when they bring solid data and analytics experience.

  • Experience in leading agile teams, coaching and delivery within a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Experience with Power BI, SQL and Python, as well as Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, Streamlit and REST APIs, or demonstrated ability to lead teams using these technologies.

  • Ability to work effectively in both English and French within an international environment.

  • Strategic thinking, sound judgment and business acumen.

  • Influential leadership, coaching and engagement.

  • HR process expertise and needs analysis.

  • Executive communication and data storytelling.

  • Stakeholder management, consulting and change management.

  • Complex problem-solving, governance and responsible data use.
