Team Lead – Software Engineering(C++)

Role Overview We are seeking a Team Lead to build and lead a team of software and data engineers developing market-leading color matching solutions. This is a player-coach role , combining hands-on software development with technical leadership and people management. The role focuses on enabling team effectiveness, technical excellence, and continuous improvement in a global and modern engineering environment. Key Responsibilities Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of software and data engineers Hire, onboard, motivate, and coach team members, fostering engagement, growth, and a strong team culture Contribute hands-on to software development, including design, implementation, and code reviews - leveraging AI in every step Provide technical leadership and guide architectural decisions together with the global team (US, Switzerland, India, Germany, Netherlands, North Macedonia) Own and evolve the system architecture to ensure scalability, maintainability, and quality. Facilitate Agile ways of working (Scrum/Kanban), supporting effective planning and prioritization Work closely with global stakeholders (India, Europe, US) to align on technical direction and product evolution Establish and continuously improve software engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, code quality, security, usage of AI) Drive a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and engineering excellence Required Qualifications & Professional Knowledge 8+ years of relevant work experience in Software Development, ideally in desktop software products 3+ years of experience as Team Leader Several years of proven experience in C/C++ Deep knowledge of application architecture, including multithreading and design patterns, with the ability to coach others in these areas Solid experience with build systems, including CMake and Visual Studio Proficiency with debugging tools and performance profilers Ability to analyze customer requirements and translate them into formal software specifications Knowledge of color management workflows is a plus. Ability to collaborate effectively with a global, cross‑functional team, including software engineers, product management, software quality assurance engineers, and application support Solid understanding of the end-to-end software development lifecycle Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum and/or Kanban) Strong ability to translate requirements into robust technical solutions Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Willingness to travel (10%) Preferred Qualifications Experience leading or mentoring software engineering teams Experience with C/C++ and MFC Experience with data engineering or data-driven applications Experience working in geographically distributed teams Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience ~5+ years of experience building commercial software solutions Personal Attributes Strong ownership mindset and ability to balance hands-on work with leadership responsibilities Collaborative and pragmatic approach in a cross-functional, global environment High learning agility and passion for continuous improvement Ability to operate effectively in a distributed team with partial timezone overlap (India ↔ US/EU) We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent.
