Tech Lead

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Technical Lead Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Argentina/Mexico/Costa Rica. Our client is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing job sites.

This is a live, high-traffic production product that generates a steady volume of client support requests, frequently tied to malfunctioning or misconfigured features. This role is central to diagnosing, triaging, and resolving those issues, with particular focus on in-progress hiring events that are not performing as expected. The work spans debugging across interconnected systems and close partnership with the Client Support and GTM teams, all in service of sustaining a high level of client satisfaction as measured in part by user ratings.

The role requires coverage of the US Central Time (CST) zone.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Java/Spring Boot as the primary backend stack — first priority.
• Django/Python as a secondary backend stack — second priority.
• Experience with React for frontend development.
• Experience with Kafka.
• Experience with GraphQL.
• Experience with SQL or MongoDB.
• Build and deployment experience.
• Experience with at least one of the following: Dagster, Data Lakes, or Amazon Athena.
• Senior-level engineer able to ramp up quickly and assume ownership across multiple concurrent projects.
• High level of ownership and autonomy, including taking initiative and owning tasks—specifically merging and deploying code—without requiring hand-holding.
• Ability to work independently and autonomously.
• Technical leadership experience, including the ability to lead, shepherd, and onboard other engineers on the team's behalf (senior engineering experience alone is not sufficient for this Tech Lead role).
• Demonstrated experience overseeing or coordinating the work of others.
• Clear and concise communication.
• Ability to manage and navigate ambiguity.
• Prioritization and strategic thinking.
• Ability to use data to troubleshoot production issues.
  
  

Will be a plus

• Product management experience partnering with GTM teams and engineers to support prioritization.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve production issues, with particular emphasis on ongoing, in-progress hiring events.
• Partner closely with client-facing teams to triage and address incoming support tickets.
• Drive timely issue resolution to meet established SLAs.
• Monitor production systems and respond quickly to alerts or performance degradation ("going red").
• Support architecture changes and system integrations that may impact hiring events.
• Maintain and update event logic in response to changes in dependencies and upstream system
