Tech Lead (Events at Scale)

At DYNAMO, we build the technology that enables some of the largest Telcos across LATAM, Africa and Europe to communicate with their users through SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, email and SIM-based channels.

Our platform supports 500M+ end users and processes millions of messages every day.

We're now looking for a senior engineering leader to work closely with our CTO: someone who can lead a small engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on technically.

This is not a purely managerial role. You'll be expected to code, challenge technical decisions, and help shape how we build and scale the product.

⚠️ This is a hybrid position based in Buenos Aires, with 1–2 days per week on-site. You should already be based in the Buenos Aires area or be open to relocating.

What you'll be working on

• Lead a small, senior engineering team of 4 people: 2 fullstack engineers, 1 infrastructure engineer and 1 security engineer.
• Stay hands-on and contribute code where it matters most.
• Turn ambiguous business needs into concrete technical plans: understand the problem, validate assumptions, define scope, prototype and estimate.
• Partner closely with the CTO on architecture, product and engineering decisions.
• Help evolve systems that operate at significant scale, including distributed architectures, queues and high-volume messaging.
• Expand how AI is used both internally by the engineering team and within the product itself, including automated decisions around who to contact, when and through which channel.

What we're looking for

• You're still actively coding today.
• You have experience leading small engineering teams directly, including 1:1s, hiring and code reviews.
• You've worked with high-volume production environments and distributed systems, including real-world incidents, queues and performance bottlenecks.
• AI tools are already part of the way you work, and you can explain how they've changed your engineering workflow.
• You're comfortable working in English with international clients and vendors.

Tech stack

• Backend: TypeScript, Node.js and microservices. Some legacy PHP is currently being migrated.
• Frontend: Vue.
• Messaging & queues: RabbitMQ.
• Data: Redis, MySQL and MongoDB.
• Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes and AWS.
• AI: coding agents and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor and Copilot.

Nice to have

Experience in industries where scale and transaction volume matter — such as CPaaS, fintech, marketplaces, logistics, adtech or gaming.

Experience taking an AI model or AI-powered feature into production and measuring its impact is also a plus.

📍 Location: Buenos Aires — hybrid, 1–2 days on-site per week.

🌎 English: required for meetings with clients and vendors across Africa, Europe and LATAM.
