You & Your Function The Tech Domain ‘Customer Journey’s, Insurance & Pensions’ (CJIP) within Retail NL Tech includes 2 main responsibilities: (1) driving progress in the development and innovation of current and future customer journeys.(2) optimizing the delivery of analytical capabilities for the segments & Insurance & Pensions to enhance decision-making and strategic planning for continuous improvement of cross-tribe journeys. You’ll be working within the Area Insurance & Pensions. As Tech Lead, you guide multiple DevOps teams and shape the technology foundation for the coming years ahead. With 2026 as a pivotal transformation year, you translate our target architecture into a clear and actionable delivery roadmap. You modernize platforms, phase out legacy systems and build a future‑ready technology landscape. At the same time, you define the standards, tooling, engineering culture and ways of working that enable your teams to thrive. Examples for Practices Drive the IT delivery strategy for the Insurance & Pensions Area, aligned with the target architecture, while modernizing and standardizing platforms and processes in collaboration with key stakeholders. Safeguard high availability, performance and lifecycle management with strong attention to IT risk, security compliance and operational excellence. Navigate complex stakeholder landscapes across Retail NL Tech, the Insurance & Pensions Segment and insurers, and build strong vendor partnerships (nearshore/offshore). Facts & Figures • 36-40 horus per week • 9.5 million customers worldwide Top 3 responsibilites The development of fundamental future proof technology solutions according to the target architecture (including decommissioning legacy applications) for Insurance& Pensions Journeys with Pega and Java; You lead the daily Tech delivery operations (run & change) with exemplary role in leadership and agile mindset, creating a culture of excellence, engineering and continuous learning; Supporting and coaching high engaged multi-disciplinary, self-organizing and continuously improving squads of devops engineers, scrum master, business analyst and solution architect with knowledge of business process management combined with a strong focus on predictability, quality, stability, security and continuity; Accountable for the security and risk Control agenda of your squads. Ensuring the right priorities are given to risk, security, compliancy and life cycle management; Accountable for IT incident, change, vulnerability and Business Continuity Management of your Tech scope. You take the lead in case of emergency (COT/CMT procedures); Responsible for financial forecast and budget (both direct costs and indirect charging). Responsible for expansion and optimization of offshoring and nearshoring HR responsible for your devops squads regarding people and talent management; IT capability building. continuous upskilling and reskilling of (internal) staff to ensure they remain relevant and professional in product development within the tribe and with this responsible for Engagement and Agile maturity; Stakeholder management & collaboration over Tech departments and with the business (specific with (sr) tech leads, area leads, architecture and product owners); Manage dependencies cross-area and cross-tribe. Knowledge of and experience with devops squads and scaled Agile; Knowledge of and experience with security and IT compliancy; Extensive experience in software development; Experience in guiding DevOps teams in transition; Demonstrable affinity and passion for digitization and cloud technology; You take on a pivotal role by weighing interests and risks together with the business. You keep your back straight in difficult discussions; Communication and influencing skills, aimed at motivating and inspiring employees and managing internal and external partners ( including potential conflicting interests); Experience with different delivery sourcing models from onsite to offshore.
