About Loop

The Loop builds LoopOS, the ERP for circularity: trade-in, refurbishment and recommerce operations for leading European retailers. Our platform runs mission-critical operations under contractual SLAs — real stores, real warehouses, real devices moving through it every day. We're entering a new phase: transforming how we do software engineering for an AI-accelerated world, and scaling how fast we bring new clients live.

About Role

You'll be the technical owner of the current LoopOS platform — a multi-app estate of ~15 repositories (Rails backends + React frontends) running on Kubernetes/AWS — and the person who leads its evolution into agentic engineering. This is a hands-on technical leadership role (~60% of your time in code and infra), not a people-management role. The team — 4 engineers and 2 delivery/business analysts — keeps its current reporting lines; what you own is the technical direction and the way we work. You'll partner directly with the CTO.

Responsibilities

  • Own the platform end-to-end — architecture, production infrastructure, dev environments, observability, documentation and release cycles across the LoopOS estate.
  • Operate it reliably — availability and performance KPIs at enterprise clients with contractual SLAs: monitoring, incident response, debugging across code and infra, shipping fixes fast.
  • Ship — develop new functionality when needed, respond to bugs, manage release cycles.
  • Accelerate implementations — pair with the delivery/implementation team to bring new clients live on LoopOS, and make each implementation faster than the last (tooling, templates, automation, documentation).
  • Lead the agentic transformation — introduce AI-accelerated workflows across development, SRE, support, debugging and implementation: agent-assisted coding, agentic code review, bug-to-PR loops, context engineering for our repos. You'll have carte blanche and budget — and you'll be measured on real, adopted change in how the team ships, not on theoretical plans.
  • Be the technical voice with clients — join implementation and pre-sales discussions at the technical layer (mostly remote; occasional travel).

Requirements

  • A senior engineer who has owned production platforms end-to-end — architecture, infra, reliability
  • ideally across Rails/React or comparable full-stack estates.
  • Strong on Kubernetes, AWS, infrastructure-as-code and observability; comfortable being accountable for SLAs. Already AI-native: agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor or similar) are part of your daily work, and you have opinions from practice, not from posts about what works.
  • A pragmatic change leader: you bring a team along by shipping improvements they feel, not by mandating process.
  • A clear communicator in English, comfortable in technical client conversations. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Bonus: ERP / retail / logistics domain, multi-tenant SaaS, release management of client-specific deployments.
  • Tech stack : Ruby on Rails · React · Kubernetes · AWS · Terraform · Helm · GitLab CI/CD · Datadog · Sentry
