This is a senior Tech Lead role with a wider mandate than most. You'll own the architecture and delivery of our Engage squad — the core of our tenant-facing product — while serving as a thought leader on agentic AI-native development and cross-functional delivery across the whole engineering org. You'll operate as a trusted second voice to the Head of Engineering. If you're an engineer who thinks deeply about how teams build, not just what they build, this is the role. 🎯 What You'll Do Own the architecture and technical direction of the Engage squad, from RFC to production. Lead Equiem's adoption of agentic-first AI development — not as an enthusiast but as a practitioner who shapes how teams work with AI agents, spec-driven development, and AI-assisted workflows across the organisation. Drive cross-functional delivery across product, design, and engineering — owning the coordination of initiatives and keeping senior stakeholders informed without being chased. Mentor and grow engineers through design reviews, pairing, and feedback that builds capability rather than just correcting mistakes. Shape engineering direction beyond your squad — contributing to org-wide decisions on tooling, architecture patterns, and AI adoption. Partner closely with product, Customer Success, and leadership as the primary engineering voice on your domain. Participate in the on-call rotation for systems the Engage squad owns. 🔍 What We're Looking For Essential: • Strong hands-on Node.js and TypeScript background in production environments • Demonstrated experience with agentic AI development — you've shipped AI agent workflows and know how to govern them responsibly • Proven cross-functional delivery leadership • Experience leading technical design — RFCs, ADRs, architectural reviews — in a product-led team • Track record of growing engineers measurably, not just mentoring informally • Familiarity with federated APIs or microservices, ideally GraphQL • Cloud-native infrastructure experience (AWS preferred) and security fundamentals • Communication skills sharp enough to translate engineering tradeoffs for a non-technical stakeholder Nice to Have: • Familiarity with delivery methodologies (e.g. dual-track agile, Kanban) • React/Next.js frontend experience • Exposure to SOC2 or PCI DSS compliance in a delivery context • Background in B2B SaaS, PropTech, or globally distributed product teams 🛠️ Our Stack Backend: Node.js / TypeScript — Zero Framework (our internal Golden Path), federated GraphQL API. Frontend: Next.js / React — Equiem One UI monorepo, React component library. Auth & Identity: Auth0 Universal Login, OAuth 2.0 / SSO, OpenFGA. Data Platform: Cortex event pipeline, AWS (Athena, Glue, OpenSearch), dbt, Metabase. Infrastructure: AWS CDK, CircleCI, Dependabot.
