Job Description

TECHNICAL ARCHITECT | 12-MONTH CONTRACT

CyberPro Consulting is looking for a Technical Architect to join a major insurance modernisation programme in Centurion.

This is a hands-on architecture role for someone who enjoys getting into the technical detail, working closely with engineering teams and making sure good architectural decisions actually make it into production.

The programme already has a strong strategic direction and meaningful progress has been made. The focus now is on strengthening, evolving and operationalising the architecture rather than starting from scratch.

What you’ll be doing

• Translating solution architecture into practical technical designs
• Defining services, APIs, workflows and integration patterns
• Providing technical guidance to development and platform teams
• Driving consistent API, security, logging, error-handling and observability standards
• Providing technical oversight across BPM, microservices, APIs and event-driven integration
• Embedding performance, scalability, resilience and security into designs
• Supporting cloud-native deployment, CI/CD and containerisation
• Reviewing technical designs, code/configuration approaches and production readiness
• Identifying technical risks and debt early and helping teams address them
• Supporting incremental modernisation of complex brownfield/legacy environments

Java | AWS | Microservices | APIs | Event-Driven Architecture | BPM | Kubernetes | CI/CD | Cloud

We’re looking for someone with 8–12 years’ experience across software engineering and technical architecture, with strong practical experience in enterprise environments.

Experience with clean/hexagonal architecture, distributed systems, API design and versioning, resilience patterns, event-driven systems and brownfield modernisation will be highly relevant.

Insurance or financial services experience would be advantageous.
