Technical Architect

Key Responsibilities · Driving outcomes: focuses on results and desired outcomes and how best to achieve them. · Able to execute plans through to action. Persistent to complete tasks and a strong commitment to take action that moves things along to ensure delivery of objectives. · Ownership & accountability: takes personal accountability and ownership for their work. This includes personal follow through, making and defending difficult decisions and trade-offs, removing blockers, driving collective progress. · Continuous Improvement: advances by ongoing, incremental improvement through continuous learning, pair-programming, questioning the status quo and trying out creative and novel ideas. Shows curiosity and has a keen interest to drive learning for themselves and others. · Pragmatic in approach, understanding that software and its architecture are fundamentally about trade-offs. What works today may not work tomorrow, evolutionary architecture is the goal. · Truly full stack, from UI, Backend, DB, CI/CD to cloud infrastructure and IaC. · Ability to work in a team of very experienced individuals, understands that egos are not productive, ability to listen and provide objective feedback. · A lot more focus should be on leading by example and mentoring across all the teams to ensure that the team are successful within their remit. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise · Hands on experience of .NET Core, React, SQL and Azure. · Experience with leading industry standard practices for software development and cloud infra such as DDD, TDD and deployment patterns (blue/green). · Provide hands on technical leadership to the teams, resolve tech queries, ensure that the teams follow architectural principles/guidelines overall tech standards. · Evaluate and improve the common platform components to help accelerate the programme. · Actively participate in architectural governance forums such as centre of excellence (CoE) and technical guilds. Furthermore, ensure that decisions made are followed through within the teams. · Work collaboratively with the Group Director of Technology, Head of Technology and fellow architects to influence and steer technical leads as well as their teams towards pragmatic decisions as well as communicate team progress. · Undertake R&D, prototype new approaches, technologies, techniques and ensure knowledge sharing to streams.
