Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually Position Title: Technical Assistance Specialist Department: Programs FLSA Classification: Exempt Reports to: Technical Assistance Manager Date: July 2026 Position Highlights Location: This is a remote position, Candidates must be based in the United States. Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 plus benefits. Individual salary offers will be based on experience and qualifications unique to each candidate. Position Type: Grant funded, limited-term opportunity contingent upon funding Position End Date: September 30, 2028 Overview The Technical Assistance Specialist provides day-to-day implementation support to a statewide grant program by serving as a primary resource for technical assistance, program guidance, and implementation support. Working closely with the Technical Assistance Manager and project team, this position helps ensure award recipients have the tools, information, and support needed to successfully implement funded activities and meet program requirements. The Technical Assistance Specialist is responsible for responding to technical assistance requests, coordinating follow-up activities, tracking implementation issues, and supporting onboarding, training, and capacity-building efforts. This role fosters strong relationships with grant award recipients, identifies emerging challenges, and collaborates across project teams to promote timely issue resolution, consistent communication, and high-quality technical assistance throughout the life of the program Duties and Responsibilities: Support the Technical Assistance Manager by serving as a technical point of contact for grant recipients’ questions and requests for assistance. Foster and maintain working relationships with grant recipients, subject matter experts, and partners aimed at efficient and effective project implementation. Contribute to the development of project-related goals, objectives, operating policies, guidelines, standards and priorities to ensure consistency with departmental standard operating procedures. Support CDC Foundation colleagues at technical, policy and strategic planning meetings with internal and external partners. Provide guidance related to reporting, implementation, and program requirements. Conduct follow-up and resolution tracking for technical assistance activities. Support implementation troubleshooting and issue resolution. Maintain technical assistance logs and documentation. Track inquiries, resolutions, and follow-up actions. Support development of technical assistance reports and summaries. Coordinate with project team members regarding emerging issues. Assist with training sessions, webinars, and onboarding activities. Support dissemination of tools, templates, and implementation resources. Qualifications and Necessary Skills: Master’s degree in public health or related field from an accredited college or university required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in program implementation, technical assistance, community engagement, or project coordination. Strong customer service, communication, and relationship management skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail. Experience developing, maintaining, and tracking program documentation, technical assistance activities, and implementation progress using project management or tracking systems. Ability to communicate complex program requirements clearly and effectively through written materials, presentations, training sessions, and one-on-one technical assistance. Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team. Travels as needed to represent the designated project and the CDC Foundation (up to 20 percent annually). Participates in and/or leads special projects and other duties as assigned.
