Title: Technical Business Systems Analyst – IT Data Engineering

Location: remote but only open to candidates CURRENTLY local to city's or surrounding areas; Philadelphia, Boca Raton, NYC, Chicago, Tampa, San Diego, Atlanta, and/or Dallas

Pay: $57.21/hr w2 MAX rate- w2 only for conversion

Hours: Expectation is to work EST times, busiest is in the morning some meetings start 8.30am EST.

Type: Contract

Length: 12-months; possibility to extend

Screenings: tech (in place of one round with client) prior to submission, full panel drug and background once hired

IV process: phone call then 1 screen with swoon- client 2 steps


MUST HAVES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst in IT or data engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of data concepts including ETL, data warehousing, and data governance.
  • Proficiency in diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall or hybrid project environments is a plus.
  • Experience working on system integrations.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with SQL and data modeling concepts including MySQL and CosmoDB.
  • Hands on Azure experience
  • Familiarity with Cloud storage models including DataLake and Blob storage.
  • Experience with Cloud Data Platforms (e.g., Mainly Azure but also familiar with AWS and GCP).
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • GitHub project experience.
  • Familiarity with AI tools like Copilot.
  • Familiarity with data ingest pipelines and data modeling.
  • Capable of creating & documenting on how our data is packaged and goes through the data lifecycle



Overview: We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Technical Business Analyst to join our Data Engineering team. This role is essential in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that data-driven initiatives are accurately scoped, documented, and delivered.


Key Responsibilities: Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and document detailed business and technical requirements. Translate business needs into clear, actionable specifications for data engineering teams.


Workflow & Process Diagramming: Create and maintain process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and system interaction models. Visualize current and future state workflows to support solution design and gap analysis.


Business Rules Documentation: Identify and document business rules governing data processing, transformation, and validation. Ensure rules are clearly communicated and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.


Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders, developers, and QA testers. Provide clarification and support throughout the design, development, and testing phases. Builds strong, collaborative relationships with team members and stakeholders.


Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing Support: Assist in reviewing test cases and validating implementation against requirements. Participate in defect triage and resolution discussions.


Project Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices. Ensure documentation is version-controlled and accessible to relevant teams.
