About Galileo Parts
Galileo Parts is a sourcing & engineering company based in Antwerp. We find the right manufacturer for our clients’ industrial parts – from metalworking and plastics to mechanical components – drawing on a network of suppliers in Europe and Asia.
The role
In this role, you help form the technical and commercial link between our clients and our external production partners.
You receive requests from clients, analyse the technical drawings and specifications, assess manufacturability and work with our production partners to find the best solution. You then turn the information gathered into an accurate, competitive and well-founded quotation.
You think not only in terms of prices and lead times, but also in terms of possibilities: can a part be produced smarter, more simply or more cheaply? Are there alternative production methods or materials worth considering? Which points of attention do we need to discuss to make the project a success?
The sales team leads the commercial conversation with the client and follows up on the quotation. You make sure they can do so on the basis of a complete and accurate file.
Your profile
• You have at least 5 years of experience.
• You read technical drawings with ease and understand production techniques such as casting, CNC machining, sheet metal working and injection moulding – or you have a technical interest and learn quickly.
• You have commercial insight: you think along with the client, spot opportunities and propose alternatives that make a project succeed.
• You work accurately and in a structured way. You understand that being organised is the key to success in this role.
• You are proficient in Excel and Word.
• You work independently, including from home, and keep a firm grip on several files at the same time.
• You have a thorough knowledge of production techniques and processes, gained through a technical education or relevant hands-on experience. As you will often communicate directly with factories abroad, a good command of English is essential.
What we offer
• A key role in a growing company, working directly with the two partners.
• Varied work with technical parts in metal and plastic, for clients in the Benelux and with an international supplier network.
• A hybrid working arrangement: partly from home and partly at our office in Antwerp.
• A clear way of working with set procedures, templates and databases, so you can quickly work independently.
• Room to help build our processes and tools.
• A competitive salary package in line with your experience, plus a variable component based on performance targets.
