Description Evans is hiring a Technical Operations Training Lead SME to support the Training Subgroup on one of our FAA contracts. You will lead the development and coordination of technical operations training materials, working with subject matter experts to ensure training products meet FAA maintenance and technical operations standards. Location details: This role is mostly remote with occasional on-site requirements at the Department of Transportation Headquarters in Washington D.C. and the FAA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Lead the Training Subgroup's efforts to identify, develop, and coordinate Technical Operations (Tech Ops) training requirements associated with program initiatives. Develop training plans, curricula, and materials in support of new systems, equipment, or maintenance procedures affecting technical operations personnel. Coordinate with FAA Tech Ops training organizations, field facilities, and subject matter experts to align training content with maintenance and operational requirements. Facilitate Training Subgroup meetings, capturing action items, decisions, and status updates for program leadership. Review and validate technical training materials for accuracy and alignment with FAA Tech Ops training standards. Support training needs assessments and gap analyses for technical operations initiatives. Track training subgroup milestones and deliverables, escalating risks and issues as needed. Prepare status reports and briefing materials summarizing training subgroup progress. Produce written analysis and briefing materials that FAA leadership can use directly, without substantive rework. Support cross-functional operations in a multi-stakeholder environment involving FAA lines of business, workforce organizations, federally funded research and development center support, and industry participants. Requirements Direct experience with FAA Technical Operations (Tech Ops) systems, equipment, or maintenance training. Experience developing or leading training curricula for technical or operational audiences. Familiarity with FAA Tech Ops training processes and standards, preferred. Strong facilitation and leadership skills, with experience leading working groups or subgroups. 20 years of relevant experience. Bachelor's degree in any field counts for 5 years. An Associate of Arts/Science with 15 years of Air Traffic Control (ATC) active, full performance level experience, or 20 years of Air Traffic Control (ATC) active, full performance level experience, in lieu of degree, is required.10 Years equivalent ATC experience in the U.S. Military or international control environment is acceptable. Associate’s degree with 10 years of Air Traffic Control (ATC) active, full performance level experience, or 15 years of Air Traffic Control (ATC) active, full performance level experience is required, in lieu of degree. Five years equivalent ATC experience in the U.S. Military or international control environment is acceptable. Air traffic control technical and operational work experience as a domestic or oceanic air traffic controller in an En Route & Oceanic or Terminal operational environment. Experience as a senior level air traffic control system specialist assisting the FAA in coordinating activities with air traffic requirements and operations personnel. Acquisition and program management experience for FAA program offices or similar organizations. Skill 5 Prior experience consulting within a government contracting environment, preferred. Demonstrated ability to distinguish and preserve the boundaries between related programs with separate decision authorities and funding streams, in both analysis and communication. The projected compensation range for this position is $155,000 to $180,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Evans's total compensation package for employees.
