Technical Principal About the role The Technical Principal is one of Tecknuovo's most senior technical consultants, responsible for providing technical leadership across complex customer engagements. Working as part of multi-disciplinary delivery teams, you will shape solution architecture, guide engineering decisions and ensure customers receive high-quality, scalable and secure technology solutions. You'll combine deep technical expertise with a consultancy mindset, helping customers solve complex business challenges while supporting Tecknuovo's growth through technical leadership in pre-sales, bids and customer engagements. This role sits within our engineering capability and works closely with Delivery, Client Engagement and Commercial teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for our customers. Key responsibilities Lead the technical architecture and engineering direction of complex customer engagements, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned to business outcomes. Shape modern cloud-native architectures, making informed technology decisions and providing technical leadership throughout the delivery lifecycle. Guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges, promoting modern software engineering practices and maintaining high technical standards. Support customers in understanding architectural options, technical trade-offs and emerging technologies, acting as a trusted technical advisor. Contribute technical expertise to bids, proposals and customer presentations, helping shape winning solutions and building confidence with prospective clients. Champion the adoption of modern engineering approaches, including AI-enabled solutions where appropriate, ensuring they are practical, secure and suitable for enterprise environments. Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, delivery leaders and commercial teams to ensure successful customer outcomes across multiple engagements. Continuously develop knowledge of enterprise technology trends, sharing expertise internally and contributing to Tecknuovo's technical capability. Who you are and how you'll make an impact You'll have significant experience delivering complex technology solutions within enterprise organisations, combining deep technical expertise with the ability to influence customers and engineering teams alike. You have an excellent understanding of public cloud concepts, with deep hands-on expertise in at least one hyperscaler, preferably AWS or Microsoft Azure, and are comfortable designing enterprise-scale architectures using modern architectural patterns. You understand contemporary software engineering practices and can confidently discuss engineering principles, delivery approaches and technical decision-making with both engineers and senior stakeholders. You also have a good understanding of AI technologies and architectural patterns, ideally having helped deliver AI-enabled solutions within regulated enterprise environments where security, governance and compliance are critical. Alongside your delivery experience, you have a proven track record of supporting consultancy sales and bid activities, helping shape technical solutions that are commercially compelling and technically robust. Experience working within complex public sector organisations would be highly advantageous. Above all, you're naturally curious about enterprise technology, enjoy solving challenging problems and thrive in environments where collaboration, technical excellence and customer outcomes are equally important. A day in the life No two days are the same. You might begin the morning leading an architecture workshop with a customer, helping them shape the technical direction of a critical transformation programme. Later, you'll work alongside delivery teams to unblock complex engineering challenges, review solution designs or coach engineers through architectural decisions. In the afternoon, you could be supporting a bid for a new customer opportunity, collaborating with commercial colleagues to develop a compelling technical approach before joining a customer meeting to discuss cloud strategy, AI opportunities or modern engineering practices. Throughout the day, you'll balance hands-on technical leadership with strategic thinking, ensuring every engagement reflects Tecknuovo's high standards of engineering excellence and consultancy.
