As a Technical Product Owner - SMS Platform, you’ll own the development of our in-house SMS marketing platform from zero.
The goal is to bring our SMS operations into one platform where teams can manage contacts, automate campaigns, route traffic across multiple SMS providers, generate creatives with LLMs, and track delivery, cost, and performance.
You’ll set the product direction, define requirements, work directly with engineering and internal teams, and own the product through launch and adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, roadmap, backlog, and priorities.
• Turn business and operational needs into clear PRDs and requirements for engineering.
• Design multi-provider SMS infrastructure: provider integrations, routing, throughput management, route monitoring, and automatic failover.
• Build contact management and SMS compliance into the platform, including consent, opt-outs, suppression lists, quiet hours, TCPA, CTIA, and 10DLC requirements.
• Design campaign automation: segmentation, triggers, scheduling, frequency capping, prioritization, and throttling.
• Define analytics across campaigns, providers, routes, and carriers, including delivery, clicks, conversions, revenue, and costs.
• Improve LLM-based SMS creative generation, moderation, and A/B testing.
• Work directly with engineering, make product and technical trade-offs, and drive the platform from development to internal adoption.

Requirements

• Strong experience with SMS infrastructure, messaging platforms, or high-volume SMS operations, ideally in the US market.
• Deep understanding of the SMS delivery chain, providers/aggregators, routing, carriers, deliverability, and DLRs.
• Knowledge of 10DLC, Toll-Free, Short Codes, throughput limits, carrier filtering, and failover logic.
• Understanding of US SMS compliance, including TCPA, CTIA, consent management, STOP/HELP, suppression, and quiet hours.
• Experience working with messaging APIs and multiple SMS providers.
• Strong technical product background: APIs, webhooks, integrations, data models, and product requirements.
• Experience working directly with engineering and taking a product from requirements to production.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of delivery, conversion, attribution, and messaging unit economics.
• High ownership and ability to make decisions independently.
• Experience with LLMs, AI automation, or AI-generated marketing content is a plus.
