In this role: you will partner closely with Product Managers, engineers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into well-defined requirements and successful product releases. You'll work on data-focused applications that provide analytics, visualization, customer segmentation, and marketing capabilities for financial institutions through modern data warehouse technologies and embedded business intelligence solutions. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a blend of product ownership, business analysis, SQL, APIs, data validation, and Agile delivery.
What You'll Do

- Lead backlog refinement sessions and support sprint planning activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop a strong understanding of application architecture, data sources, APIs, and integrations.
- Write SQL queries to validate data, investigate issues, and support acceptance testing.
- Perform user acceptance testing of features, integrations, and APIs.
- Monitor data quality and validate consistency between backend systems and user-facing applications.
- Partner with UX/UI and Design teams to improve user experience and product workflows.
- Create detailed acceptance criteria for functional, API, and data-related development work.
- Support release readiness activities, documentation, release notes, and user guides.
- Leverage approved AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, Jira Rovo, or similar technologies to improve productivity, documentation, requirements gathering, and testing efficiency.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
What We're Looking For

- 6+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role within a software development environment.
- Strong experience managing Agile backlogs, sprint planning, and refinement sessions.
- Demonstrated experience writing detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.
- Strong API experience, including documenting requirements and validating integrations.
- Advanced SQL experience, including data validation, troubleshooting, and exploratory analysis.
- Experience working with data-focused products, analytics platforms, reporting tools, or business intelligence applications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and business requirements for engineering teams.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in fintech, banking, financial services, or other regulated industries.
- Experience with embedded analytics or business intelligence tools such as Domo, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Snowflake or modern cloud data platforms.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL.
- Familiarity with Figma and UX/UI collaboration processes.
- Product Owner, Agile, Scrum, or Business Analysis certifications.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
- Ability to bridge the gap between business goals and technical execution.
- Comfortable discussing APIs, integrations, data flows, and application architecture with engineering teams.
- Strong data mindset and curiosity around how information is sourced, transformed, validated, and presented.
- Ability to independently validate requirements through SQL queries and testing.
