Technical Program Manager – Robotics & Network Infrastructure
Contract: 12 months
Location: London
Working pattern: Hybrid – mandatory on-site Tuesday to Thursday
Rate: £42.31 per hour PAYE
Team: Enterprise Engineering
Environment: Robotics, AI Research, Network & Server Infrastructure
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to join an Enterprise Engineering team supporting the global expansion of robotics and AI research environments.
This is a highly technical, high-visibility role focused on delivering secure network and server infrastructure for new research sites across the UK, North America and future expansion regions.
You will act as the bridge between advanced research requirements, infrastructure engineering and strict security mandates, taking ownership of complex programmes from initial design through deployment and transition into Business as Usual.
New sites can need to be delivered with as little as two to three months’ notice, so this role requires someone who can create clarity quickly, manage ambiguity and keep complex technical programmes moving at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end roadmap for new robotics and AI research site deployments.
- Lead infrastructure programmes from initial design and architecture through hardware ordering, configuration, patching, testing and final deployment.
- Coordinate network, server and physical infrastructure dependencies across multiple regions.
- Manage the transition of completed sites into BAU operations, ensuring clear ownership, documentation, support models and escalation routes.
- Apply and support compliance with strict security requirements for highly sensitive “off-corp” environments.
- Partner closely with Senior Network Engineers, Infrastructure and Server Leads and wider engineering teams.
- Coordinate delivery across engineering, security, operations, suppliers and external partners.
- Manage senior stakeholders across robotics and research teams, including Directors and VPs.
- Identify risks and dependencies early, set clear expectations and drive solutions.
- Maintain delivery quality while navigating competing priorities and rapidly changing requirements.
Required Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- 5+ years of Technical Program Management experience, ideally 10+ years.
- Strong experience within technology, telecoms, ISP, network infrastructure or a comparable technical environment.
- Deep understanding of the network and server hardware lifecycle.
- Experience managing infrastructure from design through deployment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Network architecture
- Hardware procurement and logistics
- Server infrastructure
- Configuration and patching
- Routers and switches
- Cisco hardware
- Firewalls
- Network security and protocols
- Experience delivering complex, multi-region infrastructure programmes.
- Strong roadmap, RAID, dependency and stakeholder-management skills.
- Confidence working with both technical engineers and senior leadership.
What They Are Looking For
This is a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment, so the successful candidate will need to demonstrate more than traditional programme management.
You will be expected to:
Create clarity
Front-load decisions, ownership and dependencies to prevent delivery issues before they arise.
Put impact first
Prioritise speed, quality and meaningful outcomes through focused delivery cycles.
Be ready to pivot
Remain effective when timelines, requirements or priorities change.
Challenge constructively
Use technical expertise and programme data to question assumptions and influence senior stakeholders.
Use AI tooling effectively
Select and utilise the right AI tools to improve programme delivery, reporting and decision-making.
Build social capital
Understand stakeholder dynamics, build trusted relationships and recognise when teams need help moving beyond blockers.
Be ready to contribute from day one
This role needs someone comfortable taking ownership quickly and operating independently in an ambiguous environment.
Working Environment
- London-based hybrid role.
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on-site are mandatory.
- Global collaboration across UK and US teams.
- Some flexibility may occasionally be required to support US-based stakeholders.
- Fast-paced, collaborative and highly technical environment.
- Opportunity to support infrastructure enabling cutting-edge robotics and AI research.
