Technical/ Project Manager – Bridge

What We're Looking For: Michael Baker is seeking a Technical Manager or Project Manager to lead bridge and structural infrastructure projects in the Philadelphia region. This role combines technical leadership, project oversight, staff development, client management, contract administration, and proposal development for state, county, and municipal clients. Working alongside the Structural Department Manager, Regional Bridge Practice Lead, and multidisciplinary project teams across the country, you'll help deliver high-profile transportation infrastructure projects while driving technical excellence and client success. What You'll Do: • Individual staff management and mentoring for team. • Coordinates tasks and project schedules. • Communicates with clients regarding project issues, schedules, and budgets. • Assists with proposal production and implementing marketing initiatives. • May serve as the discipline lead responsible for all facets of the task or discipline of the project. • Performs detailed technical peer reviews. • Responsible for maintaining technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives; attending seminars & reviewing professional publications. • Attending professional society meetings; where you will work to develop and maintain relationships with key clients, teaming partners, and potential technical staff hires. • Verifying that quality standards and project deadlines are met. • Oversight of project safety Health and Safety Plan. • Direct coordination with the client’s Project Representatives. • Providing regular status reports to Structural Department Manager. What You Need to Succeed: • BS degree in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Engineering & Bridge Design. Masters in Structural Engineering desirable. • 10+ years of progressive structural related design experience with PennDOT, PTC, City of Philadelphia, DRPA, NJDOT, NJTA, Port Authority of NY and NJ clientele. • PE license in PA required; NJ and NY desirable. • Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations using Midas, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, STAAD, and other similar software tools. • Oversee structural details and construction plans in MicroStation, ORD, and/or AutoCAD. • Excellent time management skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize competing project obligations. • Strong English language skills, written and verbal, and the ability to prepare professional, well-written proposals, reports and engineering project documents. • Assist with technical aspects of the proposal efforts while supporting Project or Department Management with their efforts to win work. • Demonstrated ability leading and managing the design and detailing of complex bridge projects. • Microsoft Office Suite; advanced knowledge of technical software used in bridge and structural engineering. Compensation: The approximate compensation range for this position is $115,000-$170,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
