About This Role

Gallium Solutions helps small business with emerging technologies accelerate their growth through federal government funding. In the process, we and our clients help the federal government transform its business practices to deliver services more efficiently and effectively.

Our clients develop a wide variety of technologies including renewables, data science, AI, and drones, just to name a few. We help them do business with every agency of the federal government, including the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, and Department of Energy.We manage multiple proposals throughout the year and we're looking for several technical writers with government proposal writing experience to join our team.

We anticipate writing a large number of white papers and slide presentations as part of these proposals. Paper length will vary between 2 page basic overviews, 25 slide decks and 25 page full technical proposals.

Candidates must understand this is a flexible position and fluctuation in workload is common. There is strong potential for multiple projects at a time. If mutually agreed upon, there is possibility of an extended candidate contract. Our permanent writing team is comprised entirely of writers hired through these positions.

Requirements

• Bachelors or higher
• At least 2 years of technical writing experience, preferably for federal government contracts or research grants.
• Exceptional writing skills and experience writing for varying stakeholders/audiences; familiarity with change management, stakeholder engagement and communications, and technology adoption strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to craft tailored proposal responses based on understanding of the client requirements
• Active listening skills; ability to translate input from SMEs, clients, or other team members into a cohesive proposal response
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams) skills, including using and maintaining Word templates
• Ability to work independently within a remote environment, adjust to shifting priorities, and turn around projects on short timelines
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; effectively manage time and prioritize workload
  
  

Responsibilities

• Write content, composing an engaging story that is compliant and aligns with scoring criteria; incorporate feedback from leadership and SMEs to ensure a consistent story, tone and style that will resonate with clients
• Produce all required content according to a pre-planned timeline. Communicate effectively with the broader team when that isn't possible
