Technical Recruiter
Location: Remote
Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
SUMMARY
Spheros Environmental is looking for an experienced Technical Recruiter to join our growing team and help us attract and hire talented professionals across our environmental, engineering, consulting, and corporate teams.
This person will independently manage recruiting efforts from intake through offer, partnering closely with hiring managers and leadership to understand their needs and develop effective sourcing strategies. The ideal candidate is comfortable recruiting for highly specialized positions, engaging passive candidates, and navigating searches where the right talent may not be actively looking.
This role will also have the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of Spheros’ recruiting processes, candidate experience, and overall talent strategy as the company grows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for technical, professional, and leadership-level positions across Spheros Environmental.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand technical requirements, team needs, and the profile of a successful candidate.
- Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies for specialized and difficult-to-fill positions.
- Source candidates through LinkedIn, professional networks, industry organizations, referrals, job boards, and other creative channels.
- Recruit across a variety of technical disciplines, including environmental science, engineering, water resources, air quality, ecology, permitting, data/digital services, and related consulting fields.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings and assess experience, technical background, career goals, and overall alignment with the position.
- Provide hiring managers with insight into candidate availability, compensation expectations, competitive talent markets, and recruiting challenges.
- Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines for current and anticipated hiring needs.
- Manage candidate communication throughout the recruiting process and ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews while keeping hiring managers informed of candidate progress and feedback.
- Develop and extend offers, partnering with HR and leadership as needed to ensure compensation and offer details are aligned.
- Maintain accurate candidate and requisition information within the ATS.
- Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, sourcing strategies, interview practices, and overall candidate experience.
- Support employer branding and recruiting initiatives that increase Spheros’ visibility within the environmental and engineering talent markets.
- Build relationships with industry professionals and potential candidates even when there is not an immediate opening.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to develop recruiting strategies that support Spheros’ continued growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of professional recruiting experience, with a strong background in technical recruiting.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting for specialized technical, engineering, scientific, environmental, or professional services positions.
- Experience managing full-cycle recruiting processes from intake through offer.
- Strong sourcing skills with the ability to identify and engage both active and passive candidates.
- Experience partnering directly with hiring managers, department leaders, and senior leadership.
- Strong ability to understand technical job requirements and translate them into effective candidate sourcing strategies.
- Comfortable recruiting for positions ranging from individual contributors through senior-level and leadership roles.
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities.
- Experience using an ATS and recruiting technology to manage candidate pipelines and recruiting activity.
- Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter to actively source candidates.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with HR and business leaders.
- A proactive, relationship-focused approach to recruiting rather than relying solely on applicants.
- Experience within an AEC, environmental consulting, engineering, scientific, or professional services organization is strongly preferred.
