About the Role

As we expand our presence across Asia-Pacific, we are seeking driven Technical Sales Engineers to spearhead our growth in South Korea. This is a field-based commercial role that blends deep scientific consultation with hands-on business development.

Responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth for PTM Bio’s proteomics services and antibody reagent portfolio within the assigned territory (Korea), achieving and exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities through market research, academic networking, cold outreach, and participation in industry conferences and trade shows.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers: conduct scientific consultations, troubleshoot experimental design challenges, and provide pre-sales and post-sales application support covering sample preparation, mass spectrometry workflows, and data interpretation.
• Deliver compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and workshops to diverse audiences including principal investigators, core facility managers, and R&D scientists.
• Build and maintain a structured customer database, tracking interactions through CRM tools and analyzing account intelligence to prioritize high-value opportunities.
• Manage relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), existing accounts, and channel partners to ensure long-term customer satisfaction and retention.
• Gather and relay market intelligence — including competitor activities, emerging research trends, and customer feedback — to internal product and marketing teams to inform strategy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, bioinformatics, and marketing teams to tailor solutions to regional customer needs.

Qualifications

• Education
• Master’s degree or above in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Proteomics, Cell Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related life sciences discipline. PhD preferred.

• Experience
• 2–5+ years of experience in technical sales, field application support, or business development within the life sciences industry — ideally in proteomics, mass spectrometry, genomics, or a related omics field.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and managing a territory independently.
• Prior experience working with academic research institutions, biotech/pharma companies, or core laboratories in Korea or Malaysia is highly desirable.

Required Skills

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Strong technical command of proteomics workflows: sample preparation, LC-MS/MS, data analysis, and biological interpretation. Familiarity with PTM (post-translational modification) analysis and antibody-based validation is a plus.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear commercial value propositions.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, remote-first work environment with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (up to 50–60%).
• Language: Native or professional proficiency in Korean (for Korea position) or Malay/English (for Malaysia position); business-level English is required for both roles for internal communication and global collaboration.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with PTM (post-translational modification) analysis and antibody-based validation is a plus.
• Prior experience working with academic research institutions, biotech/pharma companies, or core laboratories in Korea or Malaysia is highly desirable.
