Intralox is seeking a Technical Support Engineer based in Japan to join our Technical Support Group (TSG). In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, sales teams, and customer service colleagues, helping solve complex conveying challenges across a wide range of industries.
You will leverage your mechanical expertise, analytical thinking, and communication skills to provide remote technical support, evaluate conveyor systems, recommend solutions, and contribute to the success of customers throughout Japan. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem solving, customer interaction, and working within a highly collaborative global organization.
As part of a worldwide technical network, you will work closely with colleagues across Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas while supporting customers in one of Intralox's most important growth markets.
This is a home-based position located in Japan.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to customers, sales professionals, and customer service teams.
- Analyze customer applications and make industry specific product recommendations.
- Technical evaluations of conveyor systems.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues through remote troubleshooting.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, webinars, and customer training sessions.
- Provide technical training for other employees.
- Research & locate technical data.
- Collaborate with global technical teams to share knowledge and best practices.
- Native-level Japanese and professional working proficiency in English.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial technical support, application engineering, industrial equipment, manufacturing, or related technical sales/support role, with a solid understanding of the Japanese business environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand, explain, and apply engineering concepts.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and 2D/3D CAD software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong ownership, initiative, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with conveyor systems, automation equipment, packaging, logistics, food processing, or manufacturing environments, with an understanding of the Japanese business environment.
- Experience working within an international or matrix organization.
- Familiarity with project management and technical consulting activities.
