Technical Support Engineer (Malta)

Technical Support Engineer (Malta) We are looking for a technically strong and service-minded Technical Support Engineer to join a growing SaaS company operating at the intersection of payments, data and technology . You will be the technical point of contact for investigating and resolving technical, data and integration-related issues , working closely with clients, Operations, Product and Engineering. The Role Investigate and resolve technical, data and integration issues Analyse logs, API requests/responses, transaction data and system behaviour Troubleshoot payment data, PSP integrations, reporting and transaction-processing issues Work with APIs, webhooks, JSON, databases and SaaS platforms Use SQL to investigate data discrepancies and identify root causes Reproduce issues and determine whether they relate to configuration, data, integrations or product defects Resolve issues independently where possible and escalate complex bugs with clear technical documentation Support clients and internal teams with technical investigations and provide clear updates Identify recurring issues and help improve support processes, monitoring and documentation Requirements Experience in Technical Support, Application Support, Integration Support, Support Engineering or a similar technical role Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON and integrations Experience working with logs and application errors Basic/intermediate SQL and confidence working with structured data Understanding of databases, data flows and SaaS environments Excellent communication skills and a strong ownership mentality Experience in Payments, FinTech or SaaS is highly desirable Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup/scale-up environment Nice to Have Experience with BigQuery, Grafana, Datadog, Kibana, GCP/AWS, Postman, Swagger, Python or JavaScript , as well as payment platforms, PSPs or payment orchestration systems.
