About the role As a Technical Training Designer, you'll create engaging and effective learning solutions that bring BRE's world-leading research, science and industry expertise to life. Working closely with experts from across BRE, you'll transform technical and specialist knowledge into clear, learner-focused training materials that can be delivered online, virtually and in classroom settings. You'll support the development of new courses and the continuous improvement of existing programmes, ensuring learners receive relevant, accessible and high-quality training experiences. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys instructional design, thrives on collaboration and is motivated by creating learning that helps individuals and organisations perform better. Key responsibilities Design and develop engaging training materials for online, virtual and face-to-face delivery. Translate technical and complex subject matter into clear, accessible and impactful learning experiences. Collaborate with internal experts and stakeholders to gather information and shape learning solutions. Create learning content using instructional design best practice and modern learning methodologies. Develop scripts, storyboards and multimedia content for digital learning and video-based training. Produce visual learning assets, including graphics, diagrams and infographics where appropriate. Maintain and update training materials to ensure content remains accurate, relevant and up to date. Support the development of new training products aligned with the Academy's product roadmap. Contribute ideas for improving learning design approaches, tools and learner engagement. Help identify customer learning needs and support the creation of tailored training solutions. What we're looking for We're looking for someone who can combine strong learning design skills with the ability to understand and communicate technical information in an engaging way. You will ideally have: Experience designing and developing learning and training content, including digital learning solutions. Proven ability to transform complex or technical subject matter into engaging, learner-focused content. Experience working with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop high-quality training materials. Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies. Experience using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline or similar platforms. Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Moodle. Skills in creating multimedia learning content, including video, audio and screen-capture resources. Experience using graphic design tools to develop visual learning assets and supporting materials. Understanding of accessibility and inclusive learning design principles. Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. A creative, collaborative and learner-centred approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
