Technical Writer

Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Technical Writer at Sana Social Innovation Center. The Technical Writer will create clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for programs, tools, and processes, ensuring that complex information is easy to understand for internal teams and external stakeholders. Day-to-day tasks include drafting and maintaining technical documents, manuals, guides, and templates, as well as updating existing content to reflect new features or changes. The role involves collaborating with program leads, designers, and innovators to gather information, interview subject matter experts, and standardize documentation formats and terminology. The Technical Writer will also support knowledge management by organizing documentation repositories and contributing to best practices for written communication.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Technical Writing and Technical Communication to explain complex concepts in clear, accessible language.
• Experience creating and maintaining Technical Documentation and general Documentation for tools, processes, and programs.
• Ability to develop structured user and process Manuals that support training, onboarding, and capacity-building activities.
• Excellent written English, with strong attention to detail, consistency, and clarity; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Comfort working remotely, managing time independently, and collaborating virtually with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prior experience in non-profit, social innovation, or human-centered design environments is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Technical Communication, Information Design, Engineering, Social Sciences, or related area) or equivalent practical experience.
