Working under the guidance and supervision of experienced engineers, you will contribute to telecommunications system design, engineering drawings and technical deliverables; perform engineering calculations and technical analyses; coordinate with other engineering disciplines; and support project teams in developing practical, reliable and resilient telecommunications solutions across a broad range of wired and wireless applications.

This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience, develop your technical and professional competencies, and progress toward Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration while working alongside experienced telecommunications professionals. This hybrid role can be based out of our offices in Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary or Edmonton.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the development of telecommunications system designs and engineering deliverables under the guidance and supervision of experienced engineers.

  • Participate in site visits, field investigations and data collection as required.
  • Coordinate with internal project teams, clients, vendors and contractors under the direction of senior project team members.
  • Support responses to site information requests and preparation of record drawings and project closeout documentation.
  • Develop knowledge of applicable engineering standards, client requirements and CIMA+ engineering practices and procedures.
  • Actively develop the technical and professional competencies required for progression toward Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Registered as, or eligible for registration as, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the applicable provincial engineering regulator.
  • New graduate or up to 2 years of relevant engineering experience in telecommunications, networking, electrical systems, control/automation or related fields. Co-op, internship and relevant academic project experience are valued.
  • Strong interest in telecommunications systems and their application in operationally critical or mission-critical environments, with a basic understanding of telecommunications and networking fundamentals.
