Territory Manager – Pennsylvania Location: Central Pennsylvania (Remote/Field Based) Reports To: Regional Director, Mid-Atlantic Travel: Regular travel throughout assigned territory MMG Insurance is seeking a highly motivated Territory Manager to drive profitable growth and strengthen agency relationships throughout Pennsylvania. This market-facing role serves as MMG's primary representative within an assigned territory, partnering with independent insurance agencies to achieve shared growth objectives while maintaining strong underwriting discipline and profitability. The Territory Manager is responsible for agency development, distribution management, business planning, new agency appointments, and territory performance. This individual collaborates closely with underwriting, product, claims, and agency partners to increase market share, improve agency engagement, and deliver profitable results. This role is ideal for an insurance sales, marketing, underwriting, or agency professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and influencing business outcomes. What You'll Do: Agency Relationship Management Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned independent agencies. Develop trusted partnerships with agency owners, producers, and key staff. Conduct regular agency visits and business reviews to strengthen engagement and identify growth opportunities. Promote MMG products, capabilities, and strategic initiatives within assigned agencies. Territory Growth & Business Development Develop and execute territory and agency business plans designed to achieve profitable growth objectives. Increase written premium and policy count through effective agency management and prospecting activities. Identify opportunities to expand market share within existing agencies and recruit qualified new agency partners. Drive agency adoption of MMG products, programs, and digital capabilities. Agency Performance & Profitability Monitor agency production, retention, profitability, and submission activity. Analyze performance trends and develop action plans to improve results. Partner with agency leadership to establish measurable growth goals and accountability. Make recommendations regarding agency appointments, growth strategies, and distribution optimization. Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate closely with underwriting teams to improve quote conversion, support new business opportunities, and ensure profitable portfolio growth. Communicate market intelligence, competitive insights, agency feedback, and emerging trends to company leadership. Partner with Claims, Customer Service, Underwriting, and Product teams to enhance agency experience and business results. Training & Market Representation Deliver training and presentations on MMG products, appetite, systems, and strategic initiatives. Represent MMG at agency meetings, industry events, and association functions. Serve as a knowledgeable resource and advocate for agency partners. What You'll Bring: Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in property and casualty insurance, agency management, underwriting, business development, marketing, or sales. Strong knowledge of independent agency distribution. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain successful business relationships. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Proven analytical and business planning capabilities. Ability to work independently and manage a geographic territory. Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Pennsylvania. Preferred Qualifications Experience working for an insurance carrier or independent agency. Commercial Lines and/or Personal Lines expertise. Established relationships within the Pennsylvania insurance marketplace. CPCU, CIC, ARM, AU, or similar professional designation.
