Territory Manager Trainee

At Ritchie Bros., we don't just offer jobs—we build sales careers. We're seeking motivated future sales leaders to join our Territory Manager Trainee program and learn the business from the ground up.

Our Territory Manager Trainees will be placed into an intensive 6-month hands-on training program where they will work with and learn from our sales teams. This program is designed to educate the trainee on our business, our customers and the skills and processes required to become a successful Territory Sales Manager.

Our trainee will be given the opportunity to put your training to practice while still supported by your sales coach and team.

Upon completion of this structured training program, the trainee will then be qualified to be a Territory Sales Manager within a multi-million-dollar territory.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals beginning their sales career, including recent college graduates, who are eager to develop consultative selling skills, build customer relationships, and grow into a successful Territory Manager role through hands-on training and mentorship.

• Learn Territory Management: Prospecting & Developing Business, Planning & Pipeline Management.
• Trained in Selling Skills: Call Preparation, Relationship Building, Building Rapport, Identifying Needs, Delivering Value & Gaining Commitment
• Learn Procedures & Processes: Deal Management Auction Operations & Customer Service.
• Learn Equipment & Sector Knowledge: Heavy Equipment Knowledge, Maximizing Equipment Values, Market Knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 0 to 3 years in a structured sales role, and a consistent track record of meeting & exceeding quotas.
• You have a strong learning ability, coupled with a desire to learn more about everything around you.
• A strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or ability to have fun on the job.
• The ability to travel 1 to 2 days per week for training.
• You will have to maintain a valid, clean driver’s license.
• It helps if you have experience with heavy equipment - but it is not required.
• Strong communication skills, especially when it comes to listening.
• A head for numbers, and the ability to make sound decisions quickly in a fast-paced setting.
• A natural ability to build authentic customer relationships

The expected compensation for this role is between $30-32/hour + overtime. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.

Upon successful completion of the training program our NEW Territory Managers will be eligible for a base salary + uncapped commission earning potential and additional perks like a company vehicle and expense account.
