Position description
NRL's RSD is participating in a multi-institution program to develop specialized unmanned autonomous vehicles. The overall goal of the work is to deliver integrated software packages for communication autonomy. The job of test and integration engineer requires developing and conducting unit tests, managing the configuration of the software stack, simulating the system performance, performing laboratory validation, and documenting the code with Integration Control Documents.
Requirements
Actively completing coursework towards a bachelor's or higher in science, mathematics, engineering or a related subject is required.
A minimum of two years of test and integration experience is required.
The successful candidate must be familiar with the following software tools:
-- Docker
-- Robotics Operating System (ROS and ROS2)
-- Git, Gitlab and CICD pipelines
-- Python, C++
-- Linux operating systems (Ubuntu)
-- Communication Protocols
NRL requires that applicants must be U.S. citizens.
Location, travel, salary
This is a part-time position based at NRL in Washington, D.C. However, a significant fraction of the work may be done remotely. Minor travel may be required, of the order of one or two trips per year, of a few days' duration. The salary range is $50K-$60K/yr, scaled by the amount of time worked. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
