Test Automation Engineer

## About the Role

Quality Awareness is seeking a **Tester / Test Automation Engineer** to help safeguard software quality for large organizations with significant societal impact. You will work on critical systems that affect millions of people every day, using smart test automation to accelerate releases and prevent software defects.

You will develop risk-based test strategies, build and maintain automated tests, and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines. The role is largely remote, with opportunities to work from the company's Alkmaar office and occasionally at customer locations. Quality Awareness offers a permanent contract from day one and provides substantial autonomy and opportunities for professional growth.

## Key Responsibilities

- Develop **risk-based test strategies** to support software quality.

- Build and maintain **test automation**, using tools such as Robot Framework and Playwright.

- Work with testing tools such as **Cypress and Selenium**.

- Integrate test automation into **CI/CD pipelines**.

- Coach junior colleagues when interested in doing so.

- Host brown-bag knowledge-sharing sessions when interested.

- Contribute to **TestNet** and internal professional guilds when interested.

- Work with customers and contribute to the quality of critical ICT systems.

## Required Qualifications

- Minimum **HBO-level thinking/working capability** or equivalent.

- **Fluent Dutch** communication skills, required because of customer relationships and the way customers operate.

- Several years of experience in **test automation**.

- An enthusiastic and curious attitude.

- Willingness and ability to learn and continuously improve.

## Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with one or more programming languages such as **Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript**.

- Demonstrated independence in using relevant programming languages.

- Experience with **Robot Framework, Playwright, Cypress, and/or Selenium**.

- Interest in coaching junior colleagues, hosting knowledge-sharing sessions, or contributing to TestNet and internal guilds.

## Compensation & Benefits
