Location: Remote within the U.S.; Dallas or San Antonio candidates preferred

Schedule: 40 hours per week

Position Overview

Client is seeking Test Engineers to validate data quality, integrations, and end-to-end workflows across enterprise applications and cloud-based data platforms. This role focuses on functional testing, API testing, event-stream testing, and data validation across source and target systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and testing strategies based on approved business and technical requirements.
• Prepare test data and execute functional, API, Kafka event-stream, and end-to-end integration testing to validate data quality, completeness, accuracy, and successful delivery across source and target systems.
• Test cloud-based data platforms and event-driven architectures using Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, ADLS Gen2, and PySpark.
• Support defect management, including identification, logging, tracking, root cause analysis, retesting, and verification through resolution.
• Conduct production deployment verification, post-release validation, and regression testing to ensure system stability, performance, and successful implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in software testing, data integration testing, API testing, and end-to-end validation within enterprise applications and data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, ADLS Gen2, and PySpark, including testing data ingestion, transformation, processing, and delivery workflows.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, data validation techniques, ETL/ELT testing, REST APIs, defect management tools, and software quality assurance best practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
