Test Specification Engineer

The Test Specification Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end definition and maintenance of test specifications, ensuring full traceability between requirements, test design, and validation results within complex automotive systems (focus: steering systems / ECU testing). • Ability to independently create test specifications • No reliance on detailed instructions • Experience working with European OEMs (VW preferred) • Strong documentation discipline EXPERTISE Analyze system, software and safety requirements (ASIL relevant where applicable) Create high-quality test specifications and test cases (HiL / SiL / Vehicle) Ensure end-to-end traceability (Requirement → Test Case → Execution → Result) Review and optimize existing test specifications Perform coverage analysis (requirements vs. test cases) Support test strategy definition and refinement Align with stakeholders (Germany / OEM / Suppliers) Hands-on experience in at least one domain: ECU testing steering/braking systems vehicle control systems Minimum 5 years of experience Languages English: Professional working proficiency (mandatory) German: Considered a strong asset / plus METHODS & TOOLS MS Office & Project JIRA and Confluence Python ((basic level sufficient) CANoe CANalyzer Test Design methodologies (boundary value, equivalence classes, state-based testing) ISO 26262 / functional safety basics (nice: ASIL understanding) IBM DOORS / Polarion / Codebeamer (Requirements Engineering) Excel-based test management / OEM templates vTESTstudio
